Sam's pov.

I ran around the neighbourhood thinking of a place to go to.

Then I got an idea "Of course!" I thought. I ran back home but went in through the back door so no one would hear.

I quietly ran towards the backyard hoping not to get caught. I then took off into the woods.

Back when I was around 9, Lexi was like 10 and Lucas and Maya were 14 or 15 we decided we needed our own hide out. Just for the 4 of us.

So we decided to build a tree house. We would spend evenings there. Just hanging out.

After some time, Lucas and Maya started high school, and life just got busier for them and for us.

It wasn't much fun just me and Lexi up there, so we decided to stop going until Maya and Lucas would go.

I guess we just forgot about it overtime. Which is why I'm taking my chances right now.

I walked through the woods and shivered from time to time. It was dark and pretty cold.

Once I had finally found it, I climbed up the ladder/staircase. Luckily I had remembered to bring a flashlight in case the lights were out.

I opened up the door and turned on the lights. Thankfully, they were still working.

I closed the door behind me and walked further in the house.

I chuckled at some pictures that were scattered around. Some were polaroid pictures, others were in frames.

I walked to the back and sat down on a bunch of pillows we had there.

Then I scooted over and sat on a bean bag which I hadn't noticed. I looked around and memories filled my thoughts.

I remember how Lexi would always beg to play Candy Land. Or Lucas would always be wanting to add a zip-line. And Maya would always want to paint it.

Still, we had great memories.

I didn't realise that I was slowly beginning to get sleepy. Soon darkness filled my vision which mean I fell asleep.

Lexi's pov.

"Where could she possibly be?" I asked my self pacing back and forth in my room.

"She could be at the park, or at the bakery! Or at the train station but nah, or she could be at the l-"Calm down Lex" Lucas interrupted me.

"Sorry, just worried" I said. "What if she took the train you guys?" Maya started panicking.

We knew that when mom and dad returned from their trip, we were dead. Mostly Sam because she ran away, but still. We would be dead.

"No! she wouldn't, I know Sam!" I said trying to think positive.

"Maybe she went to the library" Lucas suggested. I face-palmed. " What kind of a brother are you!" I pointed at him. "She hates places with loads of people in it"

"I KNOW!!!!" I yelled and ran around the house.

"I AM SO SMART! S-M-A-R-T!" I hollered.  "YES! I FIGURED IT OUT! YES! I FIGURED IT O-" Seriously! Lexi?" Maya asked.

"I know where she is!" I hollered once more.

"Where?!" Lucas  asked starting to get annoyed. "Follow me!" I said and pointed to the door.

I headed towards the woods. She must be in the tree house! No one goes there anymore.

"Lexi you don't think she's there do you?" Maya asked. "Why not? Have you met Sam?"

Soon we reached the tree house. I slowly climbed up the ladder. Maya and Lucas followed me.

"Sam?" I asked and opened the door. Just as I suspected. She was there laying asleep.

"WHAT?!" she shot up. "How did you guys find me?" she asked and looked at us.

"I guess I know you too well" I chuckled.

"Why do you keep running away Sam?" Lucas asked. "Why did you run away this time?"

"Well.." she started. "I...."
