"Gena, you can't just.....use me..." I muttered into the phone. "I'm not using you!" she exclaimed. "You are." I argued. "That is not fucking true, Harry!" she yelled. "You know me better than that." "Do I LILLY?" I demanded. "I was undercover then. You can't use that against me."she snapped. "Gena..." I trailed. "Harry, please. I wouldn't have contacted you if I didn't want to be with you. You know how much I care about you." she said. "I don't know what to believe anymore." I whispered. "Haz, would you stop being an over dramatic kicked puppy and give yourself a reality check?" Gena snapped. "I had to leave. I was there way longer than I should have been anyways." "You wanted to leave. You practically just said it." "That's not what I meant. Harry please, let me see you. I didn't freak out like a schoolgirl when I found out I was coming for nothing." "Fine. I'll see you at our place in one hour. "Our place" was a Chinese place that I took Gena to every day when she was here. She loved Chinese food. "See you then, Hazza." she said. She hung up and I put my phone down. Then I picked it right back up and called James. "Hello?" he answered. "James, Gena is back in London." I said. "What? How'd she get away?" he asked. "She didn't, she's hiding out in London because he followed her to the states." I said. "Did he now?" he asked. "So, what are you going to do?" "I'm going to see her soon." I said. "Are you sure that's the best idea, Harry?" "What do you mean?" "They didn't save her. She could be forced to leave at any second." "So you're saying she'll leave me heartbroken again." "Exactly." I thought about it for a moment. James was right. Gena would have to leave again soon, and I'd be broken over her all over again. "I'll talk to you later man." I said and hung up. I pondered canceling on Gena. I mean, why should I get attached to her again for her to just be ripped away from me? It would be no easier watching her walk away the second time. But seeing her again was too tempting. I drove to the Chinese food place and sat in the car. Gena wasn't here yet. It wasn't too late to back out, but I didn't start the car again. I couldn't. But I should. I decided to do it. But then I caught sight of a dark haired girl walking in the door. I didn't need to see her badge to know who she was. The guns strapped around her thighs, knives in her belt, and badass walk gave her away.
Bounty Hunter.
Gena Lauren.
I watched her walk in the door and sighed. I got out of my car and locked the door.
And I followed her just like that first night I saw her.
