The waitress was pissing me off. Like seriously who does she think she is? She was obviously throwing herself at Marcel. It was very annoying. Wait, why was I getting upset? It's not like he and I were together or anything. It was just two friends going to prom together. "Are you guys okay over here?" The waitress asked us. This was the third time in fifteen minutes that she came over to our table. She didn't even look at me. She was focused on Marcel. "We are fine." I said bitterly and she left us alone finally. "You seem annoyed." Marcel stated. I started to feel bad. I didn't want him to think I was having a bad time, "It's just the waitress was bothering me by her constant flirting." I couldn't believe I admitted it out loud. He smirked, "It bothered you that she was showing me special attention?" I scoffed, "No." He leaned forward, "(Y/n), you aren't a good liar. I can tell because you can't look me in my eyes." I looked at him; his eyes were gorgeous. My heart sped up. His glasses hid the beauty of his eyes all this time. He looked at my lips and then back at me. "Have I told you how beautiful you look tonight? And not just tonight of course. You have always been beautiful." He whispered and I swear I felt like my heart was going to leap out of my chest and land in my plate. Marcel was always sweet and kind, but he carried this confidence tonight that I never got to see. "Thank you, Marcel. For everything. I'm having an amazing time." I reached across the table and grabbed his hand. He looked at them and smiled. The waitress walked by and saw this too. She didn't even stop to pester us. That'll show her.
