When Marcel and I snuck back into the gym, no one noticed us. I looked over to where my "friends" were and they were still there gossiping. Marcel squeezed my hand and I smiled at him. "Let's go take some pictures." He suggested. We have photo booths throughout the gym and we found one that was empty. "Fishy face, go!" I yelled and we did the silly fishy faces. "Model pose." He said and we did serious faces. His model pose was completely sexy. "Look at me." He told me and I did. He kissed me and the light flashed. He kissed me once more and we got out to see the pictures. "I like them!" I said when they printed out. They were really cute. "I like you." He whispered into my ear. I looked into his eyes and when I opened my mouth to say something, they called all of the prom king and queen contestants up to the stage. "Good luck." He kissed my cheek before I went up with the rest of the contestants. I didn't think I was going to win. The cheerleading captain was also running and she was more popular than I was. My ex-boyfriend, Brady was running for king. I saw him for the first time; he was bumping fists with the other king contestants. His ego was bigger than the moon. "All right the results are in!" The DJ said, causing everyone to pay attention. "The Prom King is: Brady Smith!" Brady beat his fist against his chest like King Kong and walked over to get his crown. Why did I date him again? "And the Prom Queen is: (Y/n)!" I was shocked. I honestly didn't think I had a chance of winning. I looked at Marcel and he was beaming. Someone placed a crown on my head and I had to stand next to Brady for pictures. "You look hot tonight." He told me. Marcel had been calling me beautiful all night. I rather hear that from him than Brady any day. I didn't respond to him; I smiled and wished they would hurry taking pictures. "Now the King and Queen must share a dance." The DJ announced and I completely forgot about that. They started playing a slow song and Brady grabbed my hand and lead me to the dance floor. He pulled me way too close and I tried to put some distance between us. I was aware that everyone was watching is. People started to dance so I stared feeling a little better. "Why don't we leave early and go to the after party?" Brady said creepily. He pulled me closer and I started to push him away again. "No Brady! Let me go!" I yelled but it didn't stop him. "I believe she said let her go." Marcel appeared and Brady let go of my waist. "What are you going to do, Marcel? You think just because you don't look like a nerd anymore you can stand up to me?!" Brady sneered. Marcel looked at him and the next thing I knew his fist connected with Brady's face.
