Waking up to my cell phone's alarm go off, I rolled over on the plush bed, feeling around the bed for my phone. Finally finding the iPhone 6 I hit the snooze button.
I finally looked at the time reading that it was 7:08 a.m. That was a new record for me. I never got up before 11. That was usually. Sighing, I climbed out of the comfy bed going over to my suit case beginning the search for a decent outfit.
Finally, I settled on a pair of light wash high waisted blue jeans with a pink and grey Victoria's Secret sweatshirt. I finally found a nice pair of black Vans. Slipping them on I went onto my next task which was applying make-up.
I had always had a 'fair' complexion as a kid but, I still looked like I was about 13 not 18. I started to apply the makeup to my face to make myself firstly, look normal and secondly, look slightly older. Once this task was done I was ready to start my day.
I walked out of my room remembering to grab a room key and my purse. I walked down the hall. Ironically as I started my journey toward the elevator, plane boy, Shawn ever so smoothly stepped out of his room. By smoothly I mean he tripped over his own two feet stumbling.
Trying to conceal my laughter, I kept my eyes on the floor and waited for him in the elevator. Holding the door for him as he ran toward it was quite a sight.
"Good Morning Skylar." He spoke softly.
"Morning Shawn." I spoke in a normal tone.
"What are you doing today?"
"Mostly likely going sight seeing. What about you?" I said and turned to look at him as the elevator stopped at floor 4 opening its doors then closing.
"I don't know probably doing the same. Maybe we could go sight seeing together?" He asked and gave me a soft genuine smile.
"Maybe. But, first I need to stop and get some breakfast. Even if it is a piece of toast." I state as the elevator dings before telling us it had now stopped at the ground level.
"After you." He said and put his arm in between the elevator doors, as to say he was holding it open for me.
"Thank you," I said smiling.
I stepped out and looked around finding the front desk and a sign pointing us towards the dining area. The dining stations were in the hotel conference area. I saw tables that were extended with small platters of food. Ranging from cereal to little containers that had fresh fruits in them. I showed the security guard my hotel key before getting my plate and going over and selecting a box of cereal and then a small container of milk.
Shawn on the other hand showed his room key and went straight for the small bucket containing prepackaged muffins. After grabbing 4 muffins and a bottle of Aloe water he came and sat beside me at the table.
"You know you don't have any silver wear right?" He says busting the cellophane wrapping.
"You don't either." I pointed out as he opened his bottle of Aloe water, and I opened my small milk bottle.
"I will go get us some." He said getting up and pushing his chair back in. He went over and picked up a plastic spoon and plastic fork coming back to the table.
"Here." He handed me my spoon, then he stared at me watching me eat my cereal dry.
"What?" I giggled trying to conceal my blush. It was rather odd having someone stare at you while you eat.
"Why do you eat your cereal dry?" He asked with a muffin in his mouth.
"Why do you talk with your mouth open?"
"Touche." He said and squinted at me.
I suddenly had this feeling that I wasn't the only one watching me. I felt another pair of eyes on me. But, as I looked around the room I couldn't find them.
"Is something wrong?" Shawn asked looking around the dining area confused.
"No its stupid. I just, never mind." I state and look down at my empty bowl of cereal.
I opened my purse taking out a bottle of pills that helped control my thyroid. Everyone in my family has had thyroid problems from what I could figure out on my own. Its just mine is really bad so I have to take medication for it.
I put the small blue pill in my mouth biting down on the pill. It then became this horrible dry powder in my mouth. I finished drinking my milk trying to get the horrible gritty feeling off my teeth and tongue from the pill.
Shawn, sat in the seat across from me not watching me as intensely anymore. He was looking down at his phone. Neither of us really tried to keep a conversation with each other so it didn't really bug me he was on his phone. I noticed however that on another note he was scrolling through his twitter.
"I am done if you are ready to go, we can?" I state my statement more as a question though.
"Yeah, I'm finished as well." He picked up his muffin wrappers and went over to the trashcan and threw them away.
I did the same with my cereal container and Milk bottle. I then grabbed a plain water bottle from the fridge charging that to my room. I showed the security guard my room key again and walked out of the dining area.
"So where would you like to go Skylar?" Shawn asked looking behind him to look at me.
"Um anywhere is good, I just would like to see the London Eye and maybe Big Ben." I shrugged.
I had never really been fascinated with geography in school. I actually never took geography, I took a full year of history of the world, instead of taking geography like everyone else. I never thought I would be where I am now.
I always knew the world was big and I wanted to travel. But, I never thought I would travel alone. I would have you by my side. Now, here I am in London with a boy I don't truly know, while you are above me looking down and smiling or crying at what I've become.
