The bell above the door chimed as I entered the café. Taylor looked up from behind the expresso machine, offering me a small smile,
"Hey."
"Hey, Sav, what's up?"
"Oh, same old same, what about you?" I hinted.
He shrugged, "nothing really."
"Really... nothing at all?"
He made a face," Not really."
"So you didn't totally get engaged?"
Taylor looked startled as he chuckled nervously and reached to scratch behind his neck, "Oh yah. Julie and I..."
"That's a big deal!" I smiled, using every acting skill I had, "Congratulations!"
"Yah... it happened really quick."
"Well, I'm really happy for you."
Taylor smile, "Thanks, that means a lot."
"I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm so mad you didn't think to tell me! But that's ok." I joked.
Taylor laughed with me, "I'm serious, it was just so fast..."
"Well, when are you getting married?"
"End of the month."
"Wow, she must be excited."
Taylor shrugged, "Yah, I think so. It should be good."
"As long as you're happy, right?"
Taylor paused before glancing up at me, "...right."
