Liesel dabbed her napkin at her lips and watched as Sirius inhaled the plate of salmon and scrambled eggs on toasted croissants that had been placed before him. "Are you even tasting it?"
Sirius cast a blank stare in her direction. "Of course, it's excellent!"
"Uh huh."
Sirius leaned in and tenderly placed his fingertip on her jaw, gently turning her head so that she would be able to look at him. He leaned in as if he were about to place a tender kiss on her lips but suddenly, his eyes gave away his mischievous intent and she pulled away as his mouth opened wide and his tongue protruded from his lips and she saw the half-eaten salmon, bread and eggs. She sneered her disgust.
"You're disgusting," she said and playfully swatted at him.
He chuckled as he finished chewing his food and finally swallowed it. "Well, you would know, love. Besides, most dogs are. As are cats!"
She raised her brow. "I know," she said.
"Uh huh," John said as he pointed his fork at the two young people. "That will be enough of that. Much more and I'll have to send you both to your room."
Sirius looked into the older man's eyes and grinned. "Oh yes! Now that would truly be a terrible shame!"
John nodded. "Yes it would. You see Sirius, you would go to your room and she'd go to her room at Grimmauld Place." John returned the same silly over the top grin.
Sirius' face fell instantly. "Grimmauld Place," he whispered to himself.
"What's on your mind, Sirius?"
"I want to see my father. Today." He took Liesel's hand in his and smiled lovingly. "I've some things that I want to tell him."
John and Laurie eyed their daughter as she lowered her head and stared at her napkin that was placed neatly in her lap. John nodded. "I'll get you there Son." He smiled and winked his eye toward the young man and Laurie looked at the pair and wondered what had transpired between them.
Sirius' eyes widened. "Oh shite," he whispered.
"What," Liesel asked and John and Laurie both looked up from their plates.
"My bike!"
Sirius rose abruptly from the table, wiping his mouth and tossed the fabric napkin on the table. John pushed out his chair and followed him to the clothes tree in the foyer. Sirius realized why he had smelled the petrol at the door and he reached into the pocket of his leather jacket and retrieved the tiny motor bike and held out his hand and smelled the chemical all over it. "Ooooh."
John hissed. He had heard from Liesel how fanatical this boy was about his motor bike and he instantly regretted practically ordering him to reduce his bike in size. "That's not good."
Sirius shook his head. "No. It isn't. Shite."
"Well, I'll stand by my promise. If we can't get her to run, then I'll replace it."
Sirius shook his head. "There's no replacing this bike John."
"It's a bike Sirius. It can be replaced. I understand that the sentimental value..."
Sirius shook his head. "No, you don't understand. She's special. One of a kind. Like Bobbie."
"I don't understand?"
Sirius held out the tiny motor bike and pointed to the engine. "See this?" John nodded. "It's a nitro engine. I use a mixture of thirty-five percent nitromethan. It's highly combustible, you see? And I pair it with the dragon fyre charm. You know, for quick getaways. Oh and erm, she flies."
