Sirius' slumber was restless and so Liesel decided to let him sleep in. He awoke with the sun high in the sky, annoyed that she allowed him to slumber so late in the morning; he was still angry with himself that he had pushed her, albeit gently, to perform the transformation. Even then, he could tell that she didn't want to do it. He realized then that she would do anything that he had asked of her, even to her detriment.
He donned his house coat and exited the master bedroom to find Remus coming up the stairs on his way to his room. "Good morning star shine," he teased. "About time you got out of bed, ya lazy bum!"
Sirius met his gaze with wounded eyes, but remained silent as he continued down the stairs. When Remus grabbed at his arm he turned his head abruptly, glaring at him.
"Hey, I was only playing!"
Sirius shook his head and waved him away, freeing his arm and Remus followed him into the kitchen as he padded through the house on bare feet.
"Hey, what's wrong?"
"Where's Liesel?"
"She and her mother are shopping, I think?"
"She seemed alright then?"
"I don't know? I didn't actually see her. Clementine told me where she went. She left a note for you though."
Sirius nodded his head.
Misses Jones poured a large cup of coffee for him with a raised brow.
"Sirius, why would you ask such a thing?"
Sirius shook his head. Misses Jones held up a hand-written note left for him. He eyed the old witch with a raised brow, wondering if she knew anything?
Hon,
I've gone shopping with my mom. We should be back by lunch.
Love you,
LHe folded the note and placed it in the pocket of his housecoat...he would have to wait until she returned.
"Seeer-reeee-uss!"
Sirius nearly jumped out of his skin and he turned on his heel to find Remus staring hard at him. Misses Jones was staring at him as well. "Mister Lupin!"
"Sorry, Misses Jones..." Remus pulled Sirius out of the kitchen, through to the front of the house and into the living room. "What the hell is going on with you today!"
"I did something really stupid Rem."
"Right. Tell me something that I don't already know? I know that forlorn look of yours!"
"You said that you didn't see her?"
"Who?"
"Liesel!"
"I didn't...hey, does this have to do with her?"
Sirius nodded, but averted his eyes.
"Tell me that you didn't cheat on her?"
Sirius rolled his eyes and shook his head. "No. Nothing like that. It's worse actually."
Remus' face became dark. "What can be worse than that! What the hell did you do?"
"Last night she told me about a second animagus, only it's not a second, it's actually the original one and the Bobcat is actually the second..." Suddenly, the floo activated and he was saved from having to explain himself to his friend...for now. It was only a matter of time and he knew it.
Liesel and Laurie waltzed in via the large fireplace, talking excitedly between the two. Sirius rushed over and looked deeply into her eyes. "Hi!" she said to him happily and stood on her tip-toes and pulled him down for a healthy kiss. "Look at all this stuff we got for the baby! I picked up something for Lily and James' little one too, I hope that's okay?"
