Then there were holidays.
I didn't really pay much attention to them. I didn't really care. It was just a repetitive cycle for me everyday.
Wake up. Bathe. Eat. Sleep.
There wasn't much to do. All my life, all I've done was to stay at home and read books. I didn't think much of that. Because I enjoyed reading and I enjoyed being alone.
Mark however has many plans for the holidays. He has planned to go for parties and sleepovers with the boys. I don't stop him, he can do whatever he wants as long as he's safe and he's not doing anything illegal.
Mark : Good Morning Beautiful :) How was your sleep? We're planning to dye our hair today. We're meet at 2pm at my place. Wanna come?
I thought about it for awhile, looking over to my desk that looked so welcoming with a wide range of different books waiting to be read. I have an idea.
Me : Sure. I'll be reading while I wait for all of you. Good Morning to you too. My sleep was decent, how bout yours?
I started getting ready, seeing as that it was already 1pm. I had already showered before I had breakfast.
I removed the towel that was coiled on my head and put it on a hanger, allowing for it to dry. I brushed out my hair, loosening the tangled mess. Then, I picked out a pair of black jeans and a regular long sleeved grey shirt. I put on a thick cardigan and finished the outfit with my black keds.
I grabbed a bag and put one of the books in together with my wallet, a handkerchief, some tissues and my earpiece.
Hmm.. I guess there's nothing wrong with showing up early. There's only about thirty minutes left until everyone else shows up.
I walked over to Mark's house, seeing that Aunt Dorine had already hung up Christmas decorations. I loved how festive the place looked, colourful Christmas lights hung around the roof's perimeter.
I knocked on the door, only for it to be opened seconds later. "She's here." Aunt Dorine warned me, as she had a frustrated look on her face. I furrowed my eyebrows, confused as to what she was saying. "Emily."
Who's Emily?
I stepped into the house and removed my shoes. Aunt Dorine shook her head as she entered the living room. I stepped in and with great surprise, there she was.
Class President.
"What are you doing here?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. "She's wanted here. You are not." Aunt Dorine scoffed, rolling her eyes as she crossed her arms. I had never seen her like this before.
Class President wasn't wearing her usual outfit. She didn't have her glasses on and her hair wasn't in a slicked back low ponytail. She looked completely different. Well, at least I knew her name.
"Mom! I'm bac-" Mark's words get cut off as he sees Emily, surprised as well. He puts down the plastic bags on the coffee table. "Aunt Dorine, let me help you put these away." Emily offered as she stands up. "No. You stay right there." She spat, pointing her finger to the couch.
I was still surprised. Why was she here? My heart falls to my stomach as I saw the way she looked at Mark. You could see how much she cared for Mark with a simple bat of her eyelashes. The guilt hit me, hard.
I just took away the person she loved.
I picked up the plastic bags and made my way to the kitchen where I took each item out of the bags. I didn't really know where to put the items so I opened each cupboard individually, stocking up with things that were similar with it.
