Sauvignon blanc
and I put it back --
not because I couldn't afford it
(perhaps because I wouldn't drink it.)
So, I settled on one bottle,
     cheap but my favorite---
the favorite of my great grandmother,
"Little Granny and her Mogen David..."
                              With my savings
     I bought what I shouldn't have
   and the cleark --
round faced, milky caramel skin, all of 18, 17, 16...?
   troubled himself for the pack.
I didn't want to trouble him,
so I settled for the closest thing he touched
and I fumbled for an ID
   he never asked for.
My total came and I shoved my ID in his hand,
"Wow, I thought you were 18! You look 18."
So do you and I get that a lot
but you sold me smokes and spirits anyway.
                              Sauvignon blanc
     and I put it back...
