David

He's looking for me, Nieko, I could hear him howling in the distance. I shook at the chains that bond my hands together and tried to make noise through the gag that was stuffed in my mouth. Why hasn't he come for me, usually my scent alone he finds.

Memory 10yrs

"Ready or not, here I come" I heard Nieko call out from downstairs where he was counting. I backed up more into the crawl space, wrapping my arms around my leg hoping to make myself as small as possible. I smiled at the thought of the great hiding spot I found. I heard Niekos small steps walking with caution. It sounded like he was getting closer. I could see out the bottom of the crawl space, he was standing right in front. I held my breath as I watched.

He kneeled down peering into the crawl space his eyes lit up when we connected stares "Found you!" He smiled. He reached in and grabbed my leg sliding me out.

I clapped as I laid there staring up at him "Nieko is such a good seeker!" I laughed. He changed into wolf form and licked my hand. "It's because your scent in engrained on me." His voice spoke in my head. Such a cool trick, I thought. I flung myself around his thick furry neck

"I'll always find you, young master" Nieko's words were so comforting I hugged him tighter. "What are you doing David" my father's voice boomed over us.

We both looked up as he reached down and grabbed and squeezed my arm pulling me off Nieko. "The young prince of the Underground should be training, not playing with his guard dog." He spits, shaking me to my feet.

"But he's my best friend!" I whined.

The side of my cheek burned as he brought his hand across my face. "A vampire has no friends."

Present

"A vampire has no friends!" those words echoed in my mind. Maybe if my dad would have taken his own advice he wouldn't be dead and I wouldn't be here tied and gagged. Where is Nieko I questioned impatiently, I wriggled uncomfortably under the chains?

The door flung open, Spike walked back in. "Sorry had to shoo away some pest" he spoke with a cool voice as he started fitting black gloves onto his hand. "Isn't it funny how it always comes back to this." He smiled, "All in my hands. I will rule kingdoms for generations. First your father, then your brother. Daniel thinks he secured his throne by handing you over to me." He let out an evil laugh as He walked over to me and pulled the gag out of my mouth.

The air flooding my mouth burned my throat as my jaws achingly hacked out coughs. "Your lying" I spit. He had to be, Daniel would never sell me out for the throne.

Spike just shook his head as he stared at me. He pulled out a dagger from his side sleeve. "You still dare to act so big when you are under the whim of my mercy." He hissed while placing the metal edge against the side of my face jiggling it menacingly.

"What?" I huffed, "Did you think I would bow to you, kiss your feet?"

Spike slammed both his hands by my head. Before he could speak a word, a voice spoke up behind him.

"Brother"

Spike turned to see his twin brother, Isaiah behind him. I recognized him from home. He was a part of the crowd my brother Daniel hung out with.

Isaiah leaned against the doorway of my cell nonchalantly, blood was smeared over his lips that formed a comfortable smile, "You have quite a collection this season." Isaiah looked at me and winked.

Spike looked back at me and grimaced, "I'll just have to deal with you and your ungrateful behavior later." He picked up the gag and shoved it back into my mouth. Isaiah chuckled as he turned and walked out, Spike following closely behind. The door shut with a heavy dud that seemed to bounce off the silence.
