David
Walking down the large corridor of the throne room, my footsteps bounced off the bronze bricked walls. Memories seemed to flood my mind as I walked slowly, I could remember all the banquets my father hosted for birthdays. My first fencing lesson where my father watched from his throne. I looked up at the empty seat, purple curtains embroidered with gold thread hung loosely on the wall behind it. I slowly climbed the seemingly large marble steps that led up to its post, yet the stairs seemed so much larger when I was younger. This was the first time I came into this room since my father was killed. I lightly touched the ivory arm rest, running my fingertips across the smoothness of it. I sat down on the throne, my father once occupied taking in a deep breath from the emptiness, pushing out my chest as I straightened my posture.
"I've been looking for you." Daniel walked into the throne room, he stopped at the door and composedly leaned against the wall. "You seem very comfortable" Daniel smirked as he crossed his arms. I cracked my knuckles and returned his smirk. "Well... As I should, I think we both know this throne should have been mine." I declared
Daniel cocked his head to the side, "Is that so?" He stood up straight and took a step closer. I stood up from the throne and pulled out my sword.
Daniel's eyes widened with surprise, "Brother, you dare pull out your sword on your king and blood?" He took a step closer to me.
I pointed the tip of my sword in his direction, "You aren't my king," I spat at the ground, "You're a traitor!" I launched at him thrusting the sword towards him, he dodged to the side. I spun, as he tried to grab for me, shoving him back against the wall.
"Are you trying to get killed for treason?!" Daniel growled
"No I'm killing for treason." I gritted as I thrust my sword towards his throat.
He pulled off a shield and spear that was hung on the wall for decoration. The steel of my sword clashed against the shield, echoing off the walls, Daniel pushed forward. He swung the pole of the spear towards me. I jumped over the pole as it grazed the ground. Landing back on the ground I felt the blunt force as Daniel shoved the shield hard against me pushing me down to the ground. "I...I don't want to fight you, David" He huffed.
I stared up at him as he held the spear tip pointed at me. "You killed my father and sold me out to demon territory!" I accused with a hiss.
Daniel took a step back. "I understand you went through a lot there, but Spike only wants to divide our kingdom." Daniel defended.
I used my hands to prop me up keeping them firmly planted at my sides. "So Spike just randomly killed dad and kept me as a prize for no reason?" I reasoned. Daniel lowered his shoulders as he dropped his gaze, "exactly." He spoke slowly as shamed dripped from his body. My fingers touched the handle of my dagger that was tucked in my side. "Liar!" I spit. I quickly slipped it out and threw the poisoned dagger straight at him, piercing it into his side. Shocked, he stumbled back falling against the wall. I jumped up and held the sword to his throat as he stared up at me in disbelief. "I always felt it would lead to this." I pressed the steel against his throat, he kept a horrified stare on me "David" Isaiah's voice spoke up behind me. I spun and kicked Isaiah to the ground and turned the sword onto him, "You knew, so don't fucking try to appear and play innocent. "
Isaiah held his hands up in defense, "You don't want this, you don't want to do this." He pleaded
"You don't know what I went through during that horrid time, what your sick brother did!" I turned to the side to keep an eye on Daniel who was holding his side, hunched against the wall. "It doesn't help that you look like that sicko" I grimaced.
