David
I sat by the waterside looking out over the face of the lake. My heart felt like a tightly balled fist in my chest as confusion and suspicious grew wildly in my mind. I peeped a furry black figure approach my side and settle down. "What's bothering you." Nieko spoke into my mind. I appreciated that cool trick that wolves could do. Once they make a relationship with their humans we are able to communicate through the mind. No words needed. I picked up a pebble from the pile I set before me and tossed it into the water. "Do you think Daniel set it up for Spike to hold me prisoner?"
Nieko turned his head to me, "What would make you think that?"
I sighed as I picked up another pebble squeezing it between my fingertips. "Something Spike kept saying"
Nieko sat up properly bowing his head in thought. "Spike is a completely wicked man and doesn't only try to destroy people physically but also mentally. He knew your brother would not give up trying to save you, so what if Spike was just making sure he left an imprint. Divide a royal family even after their victory."
I grimaced at the thought as I chucked the pebble into the calm waters. "I want to kill him; I want revenge."
"David you still need time to heal completely. Get your head right. You went through a lot of trauma and its only wise if we rest and plot accordingly." Nieko comforted, "I did not give up the search for you and just as I did not give up on you, I will personally be beside you as we seek out the head of such a disrespectful enemy." Nieko growled as his black fur stood up and he quickly flashed his sharp canines.
I stared down at the grass peaking up from beneath me, " But he wasn't always an enemy, Nieko." I pointed out loudly and looked over at his furry wolf face.
His eyes seems to understand my struggle. "We never trusted him David." Nieko reminded me
"Why the sudden change of heart when we had a peace treaty." I continued aggressively.
Nieko's eyes seemed to fall sad, I could tell he felt pity, I could feel it. "David, Spike knows no peace." he said as an attempt to comfort
I clenched my fist tightly. Nothing made sense, everybody looked like a suspect, even my furry friend and trusted brother. I knew in my heart that if anything is confirmed all hell would break loose, maybe because I and all who know me knows that, so how could I trust people to be honest. How dark is my family? Even my once innocent big brother. My older brother in whom I trusted and devoted my life unto... "David..." Nieko's cool voice rushed into my spinning thoughts. "We will obtain justice. For now, we must head back. Your brother set up an important lunch meeting with elders and advisors of the territory, and we should be in attendance." I let out a heavy sigh and stood up and turned to head back. I knew life must go on, but the burden of this situation will weigh heavy until over.
{Later}
"You've kind of seemed spacey through the whole meeting." Isaiah placed his hands on my shoulder. I looked up startled to see the room empty. Isaiah sat beside me leaning over the back of the seat staring at me. I waved him off, "it's disgusting how much you look like your brother." I spit.
He leaned back and frowned as he considered my insult. "Well, he is my twin."
I crossed my arms over my chest, "Aren't you a spell castor, I'm sure you learned some type of spell to conceal what you look like." I looked over and to my surprise; Elizabeth was sitting next to me.
"Would you be more comfortable if I looked like this." She leaned in closer and laid her hand on my thigh. I began to blush as I got lost in the revealing shirt she was sporting. "Would you open yourself to me?" She enticed as she touched the side of my face.
