Chapter 5

Chapter 5:
Nina's POV:
HOW DARE HE!!?!?!! HE NEVER TALKS TO ME THAN SAYS HE HAS A CRUSH ON ME???!?!
The second he was off the stage I grabbed his arm and dragged him to a spare room that was empty.
"You never talked to me!! But now you're saying you have a crush on me?!?" I cried.

"All that I said was true Nina! Every single damn day I watched you walk home I even followed you sometimes but you were always with that Carter guy. Your better off with him. I could never treat you the way he does. Just leave me alone." He says walking out in tears.
"Fabian wait!"
But he was nowhere to be seen.
"Haymitch did you see where Fabian went?"
"Uh no listen sweetheart, he did you a big favour. By shipping the star crossed lovers from districts 12 could actually get you sponsors, in other words, could actually save your life in the arena!"
I roll my eyes and mumble whatever.
I chuck my stupid heels off then ran up the stairs to our penthouse.
"FABIAN? ARE YOU UP HERE?" I yell.
He doesn't answer. Maybe he's not up here.
I quickly walk up to his room. Before I open the door I hear him talking to himself while crying.
"Look what you've done Fabian! You'll never have a chance now! She'll never love you she never did anyways! You ruined your one and only chance to get her before she wins this stupid thing and goes home to marry a guy like, like Carter! You'll never be good enough for her! You know what Fabian? You could live a thousand life's and never deserve her love or be good enough for her!" He breaks into a fit off sobs.
I back away feeling shocked. So he really does like me? Wow but still he never talked to me or anything! Until the Reaping i had never really noticed him and i thought he was to busy with his own group of friends.
I can't believe it though.
I realize I'm still wearing my fiery dress so I run to my room and take a nice long relaxing shower to think this over. Then I go to bed.

Haymitchs POV:(didn't expect that did you?"
I was walking to my room with some white wine to down before tomorrow, when I heard what sounded like...sobbing? I look at whose room it is. Huh. Fabians.
I don't even knock I just walk straight in. I sit next to his shaking body lying down on the bed.
"Why you crying lover boy?"
"Leave me alone Haymitch."
"No i mean it c'mon spill it."
He sighs then says
"Fine. It's Nina. After the show..she confronted me about what i had said. She wasn't to happy at the answer the Caesars question. But what i said was true Haymitch! I do love her! I'd do anything for her and I mean anything. I know I haven't talked to her like at all but believe me I love her to death though! I even wrote a freaking song for her! But I'll never be good enough for her! She's too hung up on that Carter guy! Like I could live a thousand lives and I'll never be good enough for her!"
He finally finished. Man this kid could talk it's like blah blah blah blah constantly in your ear!
"Well kid, I would just hope that she still wants to be your friend or maybe she feels the same way about you! Maybe that's why she freaked out! Did you ever think of that?"
I said to him.
"W-well I-I-"
"Anyways Stutter Rutter you should get some sleep. Tomorrow is a very big big day as Effie would say. Goodnight Rutter."
I walk towards the door and turn off the light and walk back to my room to have some of that wine.
-The next day-
Nina's POV:
I wake up feeling tired and like I could just sleep for another day."
I got up took a quick shower, get dresses and make sure to put on my mockingjay pin on.
I walk to breakfast alone to see that everyone is already discussing about the day.
I sit as far away from Fabian as possible.
After breakfast I'm lead to a room that has Cinna in it.
I hug him as soon as I see him and he hugs back. He helps me put on my outfit which is just a black t shirt
And green pants. He then pulls out a black jacket to keep me semi warm
At night.
He doesn't take off my mockingjay pin
"Shhh" he whispers.
We heard a voice on the intercom saying I had only a minute left.
He hugs me once more and whispers in my ear,
"I can't bet but if i could I'd bet on you."
I smile and walk towards to hover thingy. I look at him one more time thinking that was the last time I'd ever see him.

It lifts me up into the arena and I see every other tribute standing there. Like that Eddie boy or Patricia and even the Amber girl.
I also see a rack of amazing axes and swords and knifes and bows.
I catch Fabian looking at me.
He shakes his head as if knowing that I'd go for them. Huh.
Then I get ready to run.
"7. 6. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1."
I hear the horn blow as everyone runs off their pedestal.





So.. Do you guys like it? I haven't been working on it much lately it's cause I've been busy and if you spot any mistakes please let me know! Can you guys give me some feedback on the story I'd like to know what you think about it! Like if I should change something or ideas for it anything!
