Chapter 6

Chapter 6:
Nina's POV:
"2. 1."
I hear the horn blow as everyone runs off their pedestal.
I look to the nearest bag. It's a big blue bag. I run as fast as my legs could take me when I feel a sharp pain in my left leg. I look down to see a knife wedged into my leg. I also see who the thrower is. It's that Joy girl from 2. She throws another one and I shield myself with my bag. Sweet two knifes!
I start running away expecting to be hit again but instead I look back to see Joy attacking someone else.

It was around 3 o'clock now so we'd been the arena for about an hour and I was still wandering the forest looking for a decent tree to camp out in. The ground just didn't seem so safe seems as there are a few brutal killers roaming the forest. Oh yeah I forgot to mention the arena was a forest just like back home! Anyways I finally found a pretty good tree, I started to climb up the tree to a big branch that should be good enough for the night. As soon as I was on the big branch I started looking through my bag. The first thing I pulled out was a medium sized water bottle. Ooh I should probably look for some water soon but I guess that'll just have to wait until tomorrow cause it was starting to get dark and I didn't exactly want to be looking around at dark. Anyways i want to see who died during the bloodbath. I really hope Fabian didn't die. I wouldn't forgive myself ever for the way I've treated him if I ever see him again the first thing I'd say to him would be an apology.
Anyways again I pulled out a long rope out of my bag next. Then a big bag of crackers and dried meat. I should save these as much as I can.
Then I pulled out a set of beautiful silver knives. These would come in handy. If only I had a bow and arrow those things could come in handy too like just in case I want to shoot a bird up in the air or something like that. But the knives are better. Next I pulled out a blanket, some matches, a water purifier, a hand cloth? And an extra jacket thin, but another jacket. I realize I still have that knife in my leg! Slowly but painfully I pull it out. I wince in pain and cry into my jacket.

Now it's around 7pm and I've been sitting in this tree for like 4 hours! Finally I hear the canons blasting.i counted 8 of them. Wow not very many people died today. I look to the sky to see who died.
The girl from 1, the boy from 3, both from 5, the boy from 6, girl from 8 and both from 9.

The next morning I wake up to a canon shot. Fabian!?! Is he dead? I guess I'll have wait until later tonight to see.
After I hear the cannon, I untie myself from the tree , put all my things back in my bag and slowly climb down the tree.
I start walking in search of some water. Finally I find a nice big pond. I try to restrain myself from just hopping into the pond and stuffing my face into the pond drinking as much as I can. But instead I fill my water bottle and use a drop of the water purifier. I start walking around looking for some sticks to build a trap to try and catch something to eat. In a couple of hours I finally managed to catch a small rabbit. I build a small fire to roast the rabbit on. As soon as it's done roasting I stomp out the flames not wanting to be caught by the careers. Basically the careers were the first couple districts that were taken under the Capitols wing, they also are the districts who win the most in the Games. After I ate I went around looking for another tree to sleep in.
When I finally found a tree I heard 2 canons go off.
Huh I wonder who died I thought while eating my rabbit. It was around 9 pm now I think when I heard a scream and a canon blast. I looked down to see the careers who had just killed a girl.
" HAHAHA The way that stupid girl screamed! 'Oh please don't kill me!'" Laughed Joy. Ugh she's so full of herself. Then I heard another voice along with a strangely familiar voice.
"So you think she went this way?" Said the first voice.
"Yeah I'm sure." Said the second voice. Wait a minute. It was Fabian! So he was still alive! But he was with the careers?
"Let's go lover boy."
They walked farther and farther away from me until I couldn't see them anymore. So he was after.... Me? Why would they be after me? Oh wait cause they must think I'm a threat! And they're using Fabian to get to me!
Well I'm not falling for their stupid traps. But I can't believe he would betray me like that! I thought he said he loved me?
I look into the sky to see that the boy from 7, the girl from 6 and the girl from 12. My face was up in the sky.

I'm sorry to leave you at a cliffhanger but I just had to lol. Anyways please comment and tell me what you think about the story. Any ideas, ways to make it better, anything!
