A/N- This be a long one, that it is. And... rather saddening leading up to the ending.
~Limited 2nd Person P.O.V.-
You watched as your friends each won their preliminary matches. Well, everyone except Chuu, who didn't fight against the last person to reveal themselves- a woman by the name of Natsume. You couldn't exactly say that you didn't see that coming, with how Chuu acts. Everyone else had such an easy time winning, you were confident that one of them, probably Yusuke, would win.
Well, not that you were hoping that he would. You expect it, though, as he had beaten one of the most deadly foes he's fought thus far- Shinobu Sensui, the previous Spirit Detective with seven personalities, and sacred energy. A prodigy, even amongst demons, for sure. With this knowledge, you were sure he'd win.
The fight that was on the screen, was Jin and Souketsu, in the middle of their fight. Even though the red head was giving it all he had, it was obvious that the other demon was winning. You could tell that Souketsu had far more energy than Jin, as he effortlessly dodged the Irish demon's attacks. You were beyond afraid of how far Jin would go before he was forced to stop fighting.
"I'm sure Jin will know when to quit. He isn't an idiot." Rinku hummed, watching the monitor, obviously trying to calm your nerves.
"But, he wants to win so badly, I'm not sure if he can see how futile him fighting back is right now. Souketsu used to be one of Lord Raizen's sparring partners, and he hasn't exactly lost his powers over the years." You muttered, your E/C eyes watching in worry as Souketsu started to retaliate, punching Jin rapidly everywhere. "And that's what I was afraid of. I was hoping that they'd wear each other out before any of you had to fight them."
"You worry too much, Sheila!" Chuu grinned, you sending him an annoyed look.
"Says the one who ended up surrendering to one of them." You muttered, your heart racing in fear as you watched him hit the ground, his eyes becoming a dull shade of blue, you turning around to go wait for the referees to bring him back. "That looks like that's it."
"You should look again. It looks like he got back up." Suzuka stated, your eyes flashing back to the scene to see Jin standing back up, glaring at Souketsu.
"He's unconscious still." You breathed out loudly, your eyes wide in fear. "If he keeps this up, he's going to wind up dead!"
You rushed out of there, running as fast as your legs could carry you, deciding that you're not going to get to the stage on time. You closed your eyes, feeling the shadows wrap around you, the wind around you different as you opened your eyes. You saw that Souketsu was looking at you with a confused look, already holding an unconscious Jin. You sighed in relief, jogging up to the two.
"You look like you just ran across half of demon world." Souketsu joked as you came in earshot, your eyes looking at Jin still. "You okay there, Y/N?"
You've never told your new friends, but, back when Raizen was still in his prime, and sparred on a regular basis, you were their healer. It was mostly to train you, as you were in line to be Raizen's personal healer, but, you still did it, and had fun while you were at it. You made friends with them, even if you've had your disputes.
"Yeah, I, I'm okay." You wheezed, your eyes still on Jin. "You didn't kill him, did you?"
"No, noticed he was out before I knocked him out." Souketsu replied, looking between you and Jin. "What, you his personal healer or something?"
"N-no, that's not, why would you think that?" You asked, frowning, Souketsu walking back to the large stadium, you following.
"You arrived awfully fast. I think I'm getting the picture." He smirked, looking back at you, your stomach sinking. "You like this boy, don't you?"
