I looked at the boy. He looked sad. 'Who are you and what do you want from me?' He asked. 'I am known as the Shadow and I want to challenge you to a duel.' I answered. 'Why would I do that?' 'Let's strike a deal. You win I'll grant you a wish. You lose and I'll take over the world.' 'That doesn't seem like a fair deal.' 'It's not like you have a choice.' 'Fine then.' He said and he put his hand of the sword. I grabbed hold of my weapon as well. The sword that my opponent had fire markings on it. The moment that the boy took it out of the belt it started burning. Clearly it had been that weapon that had killed my sisters. It was made of special steel, steel that could kill anything that lives. Even me. I took out my weapon as well. A large sword that felt heavy in my hand. It was made of black steel. It could only kill non-humans. I could sense that this boy wasn't human, so it would work perfectly.

*

I stared at the big blade in front of me. I recognised the steel. It could kill me. He yelled and charged at me. So he went for the offence. I blocked his sword, it was really heavy. I pushed him back and he lost his balance. I jumped forward, but the Shadow managed to deflect my sword and he cut my arm. I could feel it sting, but it wouldn't kill me. My opponent ran towards me again and again. All I could do was defend myself. He moved too fast. I could barely see his moves. I felt my arms getting heavier, I was getting tired.

*

I was running again. And crying. I couldn't risk turning back for revenge. I had to leave it all behind. My old life, Mario and those filthy vampires. I ran across the fields and hills. I ran through waters and I crossed bridges. Then I reached a small town. Here I would make my new home.

*

I was panting. The Shadow had a lot of strength within him. I tried to dodge an attack but the sword hit my arm again. Another cut, the one I had gotten earlier hadn't healed yet. My regenerative abilities couldn't counter this sword's effects. I blocked the next attack and stroke back. I managed to get a hit. Finally. I dashed forwards and dodged his next attack. I would end it right now. I pierced his chest with the flaming sword. The Shadow fell to the ground with his eyes wide open. 'How?' He asked. He fell onto his back. 'What will your wish be?' 'I wish to live a normal life, I want to be mortal again.' 'As you wish.' He said and he whispered some words. I could feel a warm wind go through my body. I felt as if I had been reborn. The Shadow closed his eyes. I decided to dig a grave for him as well.

*

I sat there in the field. A green field that stretched out forever. I knew that I was dead. I would wait here forever, until my love arrived. I couldn't remember his name. Only his beautiful pale skin and black hair. I had given him wings. I smiled. I fell onto the ground. He would arrive. I could sense it.

*

I didn't have a stone for the Shadow. Instead I marked his grave with our swords. I nodded goodbye to the other graves and flew away. Maybe I could find those boys from the other day...

*

I was sitting on my veranda. It had been years since I moved here. No vampires had come to get me. I thought of those months in the other town. The few days I had had with Mario. I wished I could turn back time and relive it once again. I took a sip of my tea. It helped me stay calm during my wild wolf times. Today was the last full moon day of the month. I saw something fly past me. Then it turned around and flew towards me. It was a person. It was that boy we had been with at the park during that horrible battle. I couldn't remember his name. 'Hey Sam!' The boy yelled. Suddenly I remembered his name again. Mark. 'Hello Mark!' I said to him. 'What beings you here?' 'Can I sit here for a while. It is quite the story.' I nodded and pointed at the chair in front of me. He started to tell his story. His entire life story.

*

'And then I decided I would find you. I was so shocked when I heard about Mario's death.' I said to Sam. He had aged a lot since I last saw him. He nodded. 'So now we are both waiting for death to get us.' He said. I nodded. 'Very well then. I suppose you don't really have a place to go to?' I shook my head. 'Then stay here and we can keep each other company until death comes along.' 'Cool.' I smiled at him. We didn't have to wait much longer. We were already past our prime. 'Thanks.' 'No problem man.' Sam responded. 'If I die before you do, could you please have me buried on the hill in Wintaria, there are two sword there and two stones with markings on them.' I told him. I wanted to be buried in my hometown. 'I will promise you that. But if I die first you must promise me that you'll bury me in the town where we met.' 'I promise.' I said to him. We shook each other's hand. 'Deal.' We said.

*

I walked through the field. I needed to find her. Suddenly she appeared before me. She was smiling and we kissed. Then we evaporated and our particles mixed in the air. Now we would be together forever without the limits of time.
