Chapter 4:
I finished washing the boys clothes and hung them up. I sat back down at the bank of the river and grabbed some of the extra soap. I leaned over and put my hair into the river. I used the extra soap to wash my hair. After I washed my hair, i threw up hair up in a messy bun and tied it up with
a scrunch I have had since I came to the island.
Something moved in the bushes and I freaked out. I grabbed the nearest object hoping to would provide protection for me. Unfortunately for me, the nearest object was the laundry basket. I heard laughter as the figure made themselves known.
"If you thought you needed protection why did you come alone?" Peter asked me as he walked over to me. I shrugged and turned to look at the water. I still haven't told Peter that I had fallen in love with him during the three years I have been here. Peter smiled and me and we both sat down on the bank.
"Wynne?" Peter asked. I took a deep breath and turned to look at him. "What were you going to say before I left?" I looked around the open area.
"Where is Bella?" I asked Peter gave me a confused look, but shrugged his shoulders. I sighed. Better to spit it all out when no one knew where Bella was. " Ikindasortamighthaveacrushonyou." I mumbled. Peter chuckled.
"Wynne, I cannot understand a word you just said slow down and speak slower and more clear." Peter said still chuckling. I took another deep breath.
"Peter, I kinda sorta might have a cr-" I started. I don't know if I can do this. I took another deep breath. I can do this, I will do this. " Have a crush on you, well ok no, I do have a crush on you Peter." I said. I looked away from Peter and towards the water
"Why did you look away Wynne? Are you afraid I don't love you back? You wanna know a secret?" From the first time I met you, Wendy, I knew I was in love with you. why do you think I always came back? Wynne, Wendy, I love you. Why do you think I hate to leave you and the boys, and furthermore, I hate that you can never go with me and I get stuck with Bella." I smiled at this and turned towards Peter.
" Do you- Do you really mean that Peter?" I said acting a little more shy than usual. Peter smiled and nodded his head. I smiled and stood up to collect the clothes. I started to grab the clothes and fold me nicely and place them in the basket.
Peter offered to carry the basket back to the house. We started waking and Peter grabbed my hand. I looked at our hands and then at Peter. He smiled at me and I blushed and looked down at the ground.
"I love your blush Wynne." Peter said, which only caused me to blush harder. I saw the house coming in view. The boys were out playing and Hunter was running around with little Cole on his shoulders. I smiled even bigger and looked over at Peter. He was smiling at the boys also. The boys spotted us and ran to us at full speed.
Peter dropped the basket and my hand. I must admit, I missed his hand in mine. We braced ourselves for the impact of 7 little boys. As soon as the boys hit us, I reached out for Cole, and held him close to me. We all fell to the ground and laughed.
We all got up and headed inside. I handed the boys their clothes and they went to put them away. I was walking around carrying Cole trying to calm him down, he seemed very fussy today, and I couldn't figure out why.
Peter called all of the boys into the living room. He announced that he was going to make dinner and that everyone except for me and Cole had to help. We were going to celebrate tonight, celebrate something BIG! I smiled to Cole as the boys walked outside.
"Your father is crazy, Cole!" I laughed to myself. I laughed even harder when I heard a "Hey i heard that" come from outside. Cole smiled and let out a small giggle. I walked around with Cole for a little and he still seemed really fussy.
"What is wrong with you baby? Are you ok? O Mi Carrot Sticks are you getting sick? I am sorry baby!" I said. I sat down in the rocking chair and rocked Cole to sleep. As soon as Peter comes back I am going to ask him if there is anything for Cole. I laid Cole in his bed. As I kissed Cole's forehead there was a soft knock on the door. I walked slowly over to the door and opened it. I gasped at the figures in front of me.
