Chapter 9:

(Wynne's POV)

I ran to Peter, almost knocking us both over. Peter still looked furious, as he glared at Hook. I placed my palm on Peter's cheek, his hard glare softened as he turned his face to look into my eyes.

"Don't hate Ho- I mean James. I swear to you nothing bad happened. James is not a bad guy, Peter." I said softly searching Peter's eyes for some sort of understanding. I couldn't find any and let out a sad sigh. Peter looked away from me.

"Peter, I am truly sorry, and I swear to you I am never going to do anything to purposefully hurt you or Wynne or the boys. Ever again." James said as he sat on the edge of his desk and let his legs stretch out in front of him. I looked over at Peter and saw that he could hear the truth in James' words. I smiled to myself and looked over at James. He gave me a small smile and we looked back at Peter.

Peter seemed to be off in his own little world. He met my eyes and gave me a half-hearted smile, but he seemed so distant. I let out another sigh and turned to James.

"Do you ever think you will find someone who will love you like Katherine? I feel so horrible that you gave up your life, and you won't find anyone to love again." I said. James gave me a sad smile, but I could see in his eyes that he wanted someone to love, who will love him like Katherine did.

"I want it but, I am not sure when I will have time." James said. I gasped as Peter wrapped his arms around my waist from behind, and he placed his chin on shoulder. I giggled and turned my head towards Peter. Peter smiled at me, and turned back to James. I looked at James as well and saw the pain he was trying to hide. I know Peter saw it too, I know from the way his grip loosened and he lifted his head up.

"Well James, right?" James nodded his head and Peter took that as his cue to continue. "You are welcome to join some of my trips to the mainland. You can see if that helps?" Peter offered. My heart swelled with happiness. Peter was so kind to offer that opportunity, and James would be stupid not to take it. I could see the hesitation in James' eyes.

"Are you sure Peter, I don't want to intrude. Shouldn't you be taking Wynne or a couple of the boys?" James asked as he looked between Peter and I. I giggled and looked over my shoulder at Peter.

"We agreed that most of the boys are too young to go with Peter, so I have to stay home and take care of the younger ones. Plus we have Cole who is only two. Plus I am not one for traveling." I said giggled and looking back at James. James and Peter both started laughing at my comment.

"James, I am heading back to the mainland here sometime in the next couple of days. Do you want to tag along? I have to grab more clothes for the boys and something for Wendy, you are more than welcome to come with." Peter said as he grabbed my hand. We had been talking for the past thirty minutes before I remembered the boys.

"That sounds pretty good. Sure, the boat will docked here, just stop by before you leave. Oh and Wynne?" I turned around to look at James. " Thank you, You are welcome to bring the boys around I can show them the ship and let them hang around here if you ever get tired of them." I smiled at that.

"I would never get tired of the boys, but I bet they will love that and I will definitely do that, Thanks." I said. I grabbed Peter's hand and pulled him out of James' office. "Move faster slow poke! I want to go see my boys." I turned and crossed my arms over my chest. Peter smirked at me and I knew he was going to do something. "Peter don't you dare think about it." I said.

Peter ran towards me and picked me up bridal style and ran down to the boys. When I was finally put down, the boys surrounded me in a massive group hug. "I love you mommy!" Was shouted from around me. I smiled and hugged them all back. I looked around and frowned. "Where is Cole?" I turned to Peter and glared at him. Peter threw his hands up in denfense.

"I put Hunter in charge so I could come and get you. No offense but You were kind of my first priority." Peter said turning a light shade of pink. I ran forward in the small space and gave Peter the biggest hug I could.

"Thank you so much! now... lets go get Cole. and celebrate." I said smiling. Peter grabbed my hand and with the boys following us back, we headed home to relax for the night.
