Accidents Happen. *Josh Dun Fanfiction*

Three.

Joey walked into the door of her house. Well,she almost walked. Her border collie came charging down the entrance of her home and knocked her down. It was a greeting she had become used to at this point.
"Good Afternoon, Levi" She stood up after ruffling her dogs fur. She felt her throat scratch as she spook. "Dammit" she thought, knowing she was getting ill. She continued to wonder through her house planning to catch up on missed sleep. As she reached her bed her phone rang.
"Hey Joey!" The voice called.
"Josh!" She spoke back. Shocked the man was calling her.
"Oh,are you okay? You sound rough."
"Thanks. You've really made me feel better about myself" Joey spoke back with a hint of sarcasms in her voice.
"Sorry,I didn't mean to be rude" He laughed nervously while scratching the back of his neck. Joey pictures his pink cheeks knowing he would be anxious speaking to her.
"I'm kidding. Just feeling a little under the weather,that's all" She spoke; followed by a cough.
"Do you need anything? I can bring you over some pain killers if you like?" Josh replied to her. His nerves had calmed and had been replaced with concern for the girl.
"I'm fine,honestly"
"I'm coming over!" Josh interrupted her. "I'll bring food. We need to discuss cat names"
Joey smiled after hearing Josh's sudden confidence.
"Alright,I'll text you my address. I'll see you soon Josh"
"See you soon!"

Joey was pulled from her slumber when she heard familiar barking. She rubbed her eyes and stretched. After reaching for her phone she saw the multiple missed calls and texts from Josh.
"Shit!" she said out loud as she swung her legs out of bed. "I'm coming!" She managed to call out as she ran down the stairs. She reached the door after almost falling over her excited dog and pulled it open to revel Josh with a brown paper bag in his hand.
"Room service" he joked. "Took you long enough" he said with a cheeky smile that made his eyes squint.
"I am so sorry! I remember laying in bed but I didn't plan on falling asleep."
"Don't worry about it. Feel free to invite me in" Josh spoke to stop her apologies.
"Come in Josh" She said in a posh manor. "This is Levi" she gestured to her pet. The dog wagged his tail expectantly as Josh just looked at him.
"I'm assuming your a cat person" Joey laughed at his confused expression.
"Yeah,defiantly" he said as he awkwardly patted the dog on the head. "Good boy"
Joey laughed as she watched Josh try to bond with her dog. She appreciated his kindness towards animals. She also appreciated his toned arms but would never admit to it. She did admit to herself that she was attracted to him. Even though he had turned up to her house in a plain white shirt,joggers and a hat he still appealed to her.
They walked through to Joeys kitchen. She reached up to get plates from her cupboard but a tattooed arm reached them before her. She felt Josh's body behind hers which made her shift forwards.
"There you go" Josh said setting them down in front of her. He smirked on the inside knowing she had noticed his closeness. He was glad he wasn't the only one feeling nervous.
"Thanks" she said turning around to face him. The were stood extremely close. Neither one dared to say anything. Although they didn't have the chance. Levi strolled on through to the kitchen and pushed his way between the new man and his owner.
"Levi,get off my foot. You're heavy!" Joey said nudging her dog. Josh laughed at the sight and continued setting out their dinner.

"So you're in a band?" Joey questioned.
"Yes" Josh replied. He had been discussing his career with Joey for a few minutes now.
"But it's only two people?" She said baffled by what he was telling her.
"It's still a band!" He defended. "Just Tyler and I. He's my best friend,you met him when I picked up my cat". As Josh finished his sentence it reminded him of a very important issue that needed to be discussed. His cats name.  "On to serious matters here. My cat doesn't have a name yet. We need to name him" Josh told her.
"Why do I have to help?" She asked him, popping another French fry in her mouth.
"You helped me with him. I guess you're like his mother now." Josh said jokingly. He had quickly become comfortable with Joey after spending the evening with her.
"Okay,but I expect visiting rights on the weekends" Joey joked back in a serious tone.
"Of course,I can't raise him alone. I'm a first time dad" he continues. "I think his name should begin with 'J' just like us" Josh suggested. "How does Jake sound?"
"It's cute" She replied to him.
Josh looked and her for a second.
"Just like you then".
