Chapter 15 - It's All My Fault

A/N

I apologize for not updating, lately I've gotten very busy with school. I hope you all had a good break and are enjoying  this story! ＼(^-^)／ Also, I know Evelina fainting seems kind of exaggerated buuuuuut it's a story and I feel like exaggeration is key ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ If you can't tell, I have recently discovered kawaii faces and love them since emojis aren't available on my chrome book. Sirius POV:

"Yo, James. Let go!" I  shook James hand off of my sleeve in annoyance and ran a hand through my hair. James looked murderous, Remus incredulous, and Peter nervous. 

"How could you let that witch talk about Evelina like that? What kind of friend are you?!" Remus' voice shook with thinly veiled anger and I was amazed. It's not often when Remus talks badly about someone. 

"What do you two mean? She didn't say anything wrong!" I backed away uncertainly, confused as to what they meant. I know James and Remus wouldn't be so upset over nothing, but what did Cecile say that was mean? She just said that there's no way Evelina and I would date. I mean, it's true. Evelina is pretty, sure. And smart...And artistic...And funny...And kind...And like a sister. I mentally slapped myself and looked at Peter for back up. 

"Well, Cecile is really pretty..." James scoffed and glared at me. 

"It doesn't matter how pretty Cecile is. Haven't you seen her personality is terrible? She treats all girls who 'get in the way of her and boys' terribly. And she said that Evelina wasn't even worth you, she basically called her pathetic!" I tried to remember what Cecile said but just couldn't think of anything bad. 

"I don't know what you mean!" Remus swore quietly under his breath and James opened his mouth once again to yell at me more. Remus just grabbed James' arm and pulled him back. 

"Sirius, how have you not heard about Cecile? Evelina is always talking about how she bullies the other girls she doesn't like. Nastily. In fact, Evelina is probably danger now. You need to break up with that psycho." I looked at Remus warily then turned away to go back to the common rooms. I just realized that Evelina wasn't with us and wondered. Did Cecile really hurt her feelings? She would be here if that wasn't the case, right? 

"Remus what d-" I was suddenly cut off by Alice running down the hallway frantically. 

"YOU IDIOTS, COME QUICKLY!" A panicked look crossed everyone's faces' and we followed Alice as she ran to the infirmary, too tired to explain what was going on.  Remus' words echoed around my head as I ran and a chill crawled down my back. 

'Evelina is in danger now'

Oh god, she didn't come with us. Evelina stayed behind. Why else would Alice come to us unless Evelina was the one hurt. Please be okay, Evelina. 

'Evelina is in danger now'

And it's all my fault.

I'm sorry about both the short chapter and the cliff hanger, I plan to update tonight or tomorrow as well. I just wanted to get this out as soon as possible and I still have to think about something regarding Evelina's condition. Hope you liked it! -S.E.A.
