I'm sorry for not posting earlier, I am eating my words as I type ( ̄ー ̄) .... anyways! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has voted, commented, and added my book to their reading lists. You have no idea how happy it makes me, every time I get a notification that someone has done that I do a little dance in my seat and freak out while telling my friends. \ ( ^ - ^ ) / Have fun reading this chapter! -S.E.A.
P.S. Just wanted to clarify, I get super excited by ALL activity on this book. Including simple reads. To anyone who reads this book, I truly love the fact that you are interested in it enough to continue reading. It means a lot to me to (hopefully) bring joy to others through my carefully thought out story. I write this story both for me, and for you. You keep me writing, no matter how few are reading. Thank you so much!!!
Sirius POV:
The last time I felt this hopeless I was watching Remus limp his way out of this dreaded room only three short weeks ago. He was beaten and scratched, and the color had seemed to exit his body in one fell swoop. Now Evelina's pale face rested upon the pure white pillow, her dusty-colored hair surrounding her head like a halo. Lily had carefully brushed it earlier - she said Evelina hated having her hair look bad. Scarlette eventually forced the red head out of the room to go finish her homework, but I stayed behind. James, Remus, and Peter all left reluctantly as well. Madam Pomphrey only allowed one student at a time to be with Evelina and apparently I was the chosen one. Not that I minded, but it can be rather dull waiting alone for someone to wake up from an injury you caused.
I caused this.
Nervously I breathed in and out quickly and tried to distract myself. Evelina looked like some kind of angel laying down on that bed, wearing that white gown. Her curved lips were slightly parted and her chest rose and fell slowly. I felt tears prick my eyes.
I caused this.
When I walked into the room earlier the conversations suddenly hushed and a silence blanketed the room. No one would meet my gaze except for Lily whose piercing glare gave me chills. That look of murderous rage proved that everything was my fault. It was impossible to prove, but a drowsiness inducing curse was placed on Evelina...most likely by Cecile. The tiredness on top of her stress from school caused her to faint. That was bad enough already but as Evelina passed out, she fell backwards off the bench and hit her head against the stone floor. Hard. Madam Pomphrey did everything she could to treat the injury and within an hour Evelina was as good as new, but still asleep. The only good thing that came out of this was Evelina's and my hair were returned back to normal. Apparently the school nurse comes prepared for our pranks.
"Evelina...I don't know how to show you how sorry I am...I can't ask you to forgive me when I can't even forgive myself." The sleeping girl remained motionless and hopelessness washed over my body. When would she wake up? It was dark out by now and I could hear Madam P cleaning up the other rooms. After having spent so much time in this place with Remus and getting kicked out, I learned the drill. I quickly moved my seat back against the wall and kicked my bag under the bed. Then I rolled under the bed next to Evelina and laid there for a few minutes until Madam P left and left me alone with Evelina. I sighed and returned to my place by my friend's immobile form. "...please wake up soon." The time ticked by and soon I found myself nodding off.
"Sirius?"

FanfictionJK Rowling leaves many empty holes in the background of the marauders, Sirius Black in particular. This gives me a reason to believe that perhaps this beautiful and talented author wanted us, her devoted readers, to create their own stories for her...
