"The cafeteria".. The place where we eat lunch. The place where we get a 20 minute break from education. The place where all drama starts.
My best friend is Saber Mercia. She is the most awesome person you could ever meet! We both always know what the other one is thinking, we do everything together, and we have never had a real fight.
But in middle school, you never have just one friend. Everyone is part of various groups, that think lesser of the other groups, don't include others, and have similar interests with people in their group. But no matter what kind of person you are , you fit into some kind of group.
My name is Camille Clark. I love art and science. And I don't love middle school. Carrying backpacks that weigh about 50 POUNDS per bag, having homework from 6 classes everyday, at least 2 tests every week, grades, friendships, clubs, extracurricular events, studying, and waking up at 6 AM everyday and not sleeping until 10:30 or later every night. I'm sure people who have 9-5 jobs don't work as hard as middle school students.
The first few weeks of 6th grade, lunch was a delicious way to take a break from reality . And then you see the groups forming, and just like that, lunch can prove to be more challenging than academic classes. There are quite a few personalities you can find in a cafeteria, but to name a few, we have:
YOUR BEST FRIEND: This is the best person. They will cheer you up when down, or share in your sorrows, making you feel better about life. They will make you laugh. They will talk to you about stuff you want to talk about about. And you will have fun with this person.
DRAMATIC DRAMA STARS: Now we have the people who you personally really like to hang out with, but they are part of about 7 groups. Can't always guarantee they will want to sit with you, but you most likely will not want to sit with their wacky friends.
PEERS: These are the people who you initially didn't like, but when you got partnered up with them for a project or met them in a club, you connected. Not best friends, but you don't mind sitting with them. They tend to talk about a diverse range of topics , some of which you will not be interested in. But if you ever lose your best friend, these are the people you will turn to. So stay in their good books, just in case.
THE PERSON WHO FOLLOWS YOU EVERYWHERE AND THINKS THAT YOU ARE THEIR BEST FRIEND: News flash; I HATE YOU. These people talk too much(like wayyy tooo much), follow you everywhere, talk about the most stupid things, interrupt you about 70 times during one sentence, and are most likely obsessed with something random like Starbucks.
POPULAR GIRLS: You are most likely not one of these obnoxious people who think they are perfect and will rub it in everybody's faces. However, if the entire cafeteria sings happy birthday to you and not just two people, it might be a signal..
BOYS: Most of them are dumb. Not all of them , though..But most boys do some really weird things that I would rather not say, like eat french fries covered in chocolate milk from the trashcan. Haha, you might say. Its not funny.
MISCELLANEOUS: This is for the people who don't have a category and sit with the teachers or by themselves. Come on people, we all know these people exist.
Anyways, I was totally unprepared for 7th grade in the cafeteria. It takes groups to a whole new level. And I was not prepared for what was about to hit me next..
