Alex's PoV:

So let me just say that I hate socialising. People suck. I have homework to do and tests to pass and essays to write, and people are just a distraction.

But here's the thing; I love coffee.

So like the loner I am I go to this little coffee shop alone every morning possible. It's an independent business called Chocolate Eclipse with super nice staff and aesthetically pleasing deco and really really good coffee.

Anyway, I was in there with my laptop one Saturday morning, when a rowdy group walk in. Great, I think. They sit and order and leave me alone so it's all fine.

But of course they ordered alcohol. On a Saturday morning.

About half an hour later one short guy with cute freckles and gorgeous curly hair that sits on his shoulders stands up.

"whAT TIME IS IT??" He yells.

"SHOWTIME," the others reply, and proceed to have a rap battle. What the heck?

I pay more attention to the group now. The guy who stood up is adorable. His hair shines in its waves and his eyes dance. On his right is a burly man with skin the colour of dark chocolate. His laughter is rich and his voice deep. Next to him sits a broad but leaner man with the fluffiest hair I've ever seen. And am I hearing his accent right - French??

Next to him is a girl who looks younger than the others. She isn't drinking her drink and seems to be hiding behind a smile. I'm not great at ready people but I've seen that look in my own face enough times to recognise it.

The cute freckled guy notices me watching and my eyes dart back to my laptop. I try to focus.

A hand falls on my shoulder.

"Hey, why you lookin so down? Come join us," says the most adorable man I've ever seen, "By the way, I'm John Laurens."

He offers his hand and I stare at it awkwardly. "Alexander Hamilton," I say, taking his hand. "My friends call me Alex. At least they would, if I had any."

John laughs and ushers me to their table.

---time skip to later because I'm lazy---

"Yo, Alex," the big guy named Hercules Mulligan is speaking to me, "why dontcha come back to campus with us?"

"Yeah, you're at Kings College too right?" John smiles.

I should probably let you know: the group were here to make Peggy (the girl) feel better about being dumped. The frizzy hair belonged to Marquis de Lafayette, a French exchange student.

"Oui, mon ami, nous vous aimons." He agrees. I'm thankful I'm fluent in French.

"'Man, speak English for once!" Herc complains.

"He said 'we like you'," I translate.

"Ah, mais je t'enerve," Lafayette smirks.

Herc glares at him, oblivious to the fact Laf just said "Ah, but I annoy you."

Then I notice than John is closer to me than before. My heart starts thudding. So I'm bi? For this man, certainly.

We've spent this whole morning making eye contact then blushing and looking away. My life is sad.

We walk back to campus since it's not too far, all the while Lafayette messes around. He's so playful with Hercules; I'm not sure whether to ask if they're a couple or not.

Meanwhile Peggy says she's going to the library and I'm left walking behind the Frenchman and Hercules. With John. Just me and John.

We're silent then he smiles and grabs my hand, takes off at a run, and throws his head back laughing. Oh my god.

My bag containing my laptop falls off my shoulder but I'm glad - we're headed straight for the pond.

This man is a lunatic.

"John, NO!" I yell but he takes no notice.

"SWIMMING" he retorts.

"NO" I shoot back.

"YES"

"YOU'RE DRUNK-"

Then we're in the pond, which is about waist deep and stinks. We create a minor tsunami and there isn't an inch of dry clothing on me.

"Damn you-" I start. John splashes disgusting water in my face.

I stand there in shame for a second then say, "oh, so that's how it is?"

Cue the water fight. I can't believe I'm doing this in September. Mulligan and Lafayette stand at the edge and yell encouraging words like,

"GET HIM ALEX"

"HERCULES NON-"

"DROWN HIM"

"DONT SAY THAT"

"HAVE A BIT OF PONDWEED"

"VOUS ÊTES STUPIDS"

"WHAT??"

"IDIOTS"

I'm surprised how fun it was. We eventually got too cold to continue so John invites me to his dorm.

"I share with this dude called Aaron Burr. He's reasonable and he's super smart." He assures me.

Uh oh. Burr hates me. Mainly cause always follow his name with "sir". You can't not, you know?

---in johns dorm---

We walk in, still laughing from before. Burr is sat at a desk inside.

"Aaron Burr, sir."

"Hamilton." Burr glares at me then leaves.

"That went well." John remarks.

I laugh, then realise I'm alone with this man. This man has freckles like someone scattered glitter over his face and it's so damn cute.

"So..." I fail to make conversation.

John steps closer. "So?"

I fiddle with the hem of my shirt. I have no idea what to say. I look up into gorgeous hazel-green eyes and basically melt.

John steps closer again, but I'm pretty sure there's still too much space between us.

I hold his gaze until I can't take it anymore.

Next thing I know, I'm kissing him. Our wet clothes are warm with body heat and his lips are so soft. He backs me into the wall while my hands explore his hair. God he's hot. He holds my waist firmly and gently at the same time. Hell yeah I'm bi. And I don't want it to end. Ever.

Okay so that took ages to get off the ground but I have a question:
Should I do a part 2 for this one?

Hope you enjoyed!
