On Tuesday, I was sitting in fourth period, before lunch, when my boyfriend walked in. "Mr. Dollin needs to see Dan Howell right now."

"Do you have a note?" My teacher asked.

Phil shook his head. "He told me to tell you to tell Dan that he needs to see him right now. And for Dan to tell you that he needs to go. And for you to tell Dan it's alright for him to go."

"Come back when the matter is handled." My teacher told me.

Once Phil and I were away from the classroom, he laced his fingers in mine. "So, what do you want to do?"

"The thing about teachers asking for you is that you go to them."

"The thing about Mr. Dollin is that he doesn't exist." Phil glanced over at me.

"Phil!" I swatted his arm with my free hand.

"What?" He asked innocently. "I had a free period!"

"I had a class!"

"Oh? So what were you learning?" He questioned.

"Uhm... something about a dead guy."

"History is pretty much dead guys." Phil smiled, squeezing my hand. "I got you something really good for you birthday."

"Oh yeah? I'm not used to good presents."

Phil frowned. "What do you mean?"

"Nothing. Not important." I shook my head.

"It is to me."

"Really. Just forget I said anything."

"Alright. But seriously, what do you want to do?"

"Go back to class before my teacher finds-"

"She won't, Dan! C'mon! Let's camp out in the auditorium."

"Ugh. Vietnam flashbacks." I cringed.

Phil furrowed his eyebrows. "What do you mean?"

"I used to do drama."

"Really? Hah! Perform something for me."

I rubbed the back of my neck. "Well... I know this monologue-"

"Perfect! Let's go!"
