Giving Words Their Due

Which is more important, to write or to read?

If there is only time to do one...

And when should I put down my pen, before my hand bleeds?

What if there are still more words to come?

How long should I rest my eyes on each of your lines?

Shall I linger and loiter, while you dream up a spoiler?

Return to that page where I found an old memory

That gave me a temporary reprieve from the chaos.

The chaos that invades my mind.

Words are a living amalgamation

Of experience, wisdom and electricity.

They can ruin a picture perfect day

Or transform devastation into consolation.

Words have the power instilled by God

They possess a command structure

Thou shalt not let these rows rot

Give these words their due, may God bless you.

Words: they sometimes have trouble being heard

Words: they vary from the witty to the absurd

Trends in town mean that some popular phrases are beaten down,

Abused and arrested, searched for and quested.

I need a few words that will get rid of my frown.

Give these words your attention if you please

Take a moment, just like when you sneeze

Wonder for a wondrous pause

Words can prevent disease like Yaws.

If one person writes while the other reads then the world would be more at peace.
