Levi and Hanji reluctantly broke apart while Levi walked to the door and answered it. "Hello. Come on in." He sighed and let the student in through the front of the house.
"Hello Mrs Zoë-Ackerman and Mr Ackerman!" He said curtly with a nervous smile. He was surprised at how beautiful Mrs Zoë-Ackerman looked. He reminded himself that she was nearly nine years older than him. He looked at Mr Ackerman. He barely looked twenty years old. Even though he had just turned twenty seven.
The couple both looked like they were in their late teens and were going to prom or something. Mrs Zoë-Ackerman wearing her pretty black dress and Mr Ackerman in a handsome suit. Even though Armin Arlert was just babysitting, he felt underdressed in his black skinny jeans and hoody."So where is the baby?" Armin asked to break the awkward silence. He bit his bottom lip and looked around the above average apartment. He turned to look at Levi, but it was Hanji who answered.
"Oh! She's upstairs sleeping, if she begins to cry just go up and read her a bedtime story!" Hanji smiled warmly. "Levi, Armin I'll be back! I just want to check on her before we go!" Hanji turned sharply and began walking up stairs.Silence.
Armin looked around awkwardly. He really didn't want to make eye contact with Mr Ackerman. He sighed and looked down at his vans shoes. He was glad that they were clean otherwise Mr Ackerman would not of been impressed."Arlert." Levi said staring at him. "I need you to promise me something.. alright?"
Armin nodded. It was probably something like 'no smoking' or 'keep my baby safe' he guessed in his head.
Levi studied Armin's expression. He knew what he said next would come as a shock. But he furrowed his brows and said it anyway.
"No matter what.." he paused hearing Hanji close the door to the nursery. "Don't go into the babies room." Levi looked at him almost pleadingly. It was almost like something was wrong.
Armin's eyes widened. 'What?' He thought. 'That's stupid! He's probably joking...! Right?' He asked himself. He felt his heartbeat quicken. 'What if it screamed?' His mind rushed through possibilities that may occur.
But just when he was about to ask why. Hanji could be heard opening the nursery door to exit down the stairs. "So you can watch Netflix on the T.v!" She smiled at Armin. "There's food in the fridge so make yourself at home! But don't drink all of Levi's tea or he'll get grumpy!" Hanji chuckled looking over at her husband fondly.
"...Let's go Hanji." Levi looked at her. He looked over at Armin before turning away and walking out. "I'll turn the heater on in the car." He mumbled to Hanji.
"Aww! I'll be there now Levi!" Hanji giggled. "By Armin, have fun!" She happily skipped after her slightly annoyed husband. She got into the car and then Levi drove off. Armin watched the scene unfold through the window, standing on his tiptoes slightly to get the best possible view.
As soon as the vehicle was out of his sight Armin instantly sat on the couch. Curiosity building inside him. Levi may just be very overprotective of his child, though nothing had been mentioned about the said child. He didn't even know her name! He looked through Netflix and eventually picked out an nature documentary which obviously sparked his interests. If he was in his own home the voice of the Narrator would of lulled him to a peaceful slumber. Yet he was in a house he had never set foot in before. The house of his old teacher to be in fact. Though they were friends, he had never met her husband before. He was quite a looker to be honest. With his black hair and steel grey eyes. He had never expected Mrs Zoë-Ackerman to fall in love with a man like him. He decided he was overthinking the whole situation he was in, overthinking was something he excelled in.
But one thing he didn't overthink was the particularly loud bang on the floor above him.
Its finally here! Thank you all so much for waiting so patiently for chapter 3! Also Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it! I thought it would be nice to finally finish this chapter on Christmas! So enjoy! :D
