It came from the Nursery. The place he had been firmly told to not go in. But this had to be an exception, right?
Silence seemed common in this house.
He knew that he was defying Levi but the child may of been injured!
On that thought he stood up and frantically raced up the stairs. He looked around before grabbing the handle of the door and opening the nursery.Silence seemed common in this house.
But that in no way meant it was comforting.
[Levi p.o.v ]Levi picked at his plate. He wasn't really feeling all that hungry. He looked over at Hanji who was happily eating her meal. He sighed. Of course she'd be joyful at a time like this. Typical Hanji. He envied her happiness. He really did. He wanted to be clueless and pretend that everything was alright... but it wasn't. He closed his bluey-grey eyes. He heard a giggle.
When he opened his eyes he saw a pair of chocolate ones staring into his. He could feel his face flush slightly as Hanji kissed him softly.
He kissed back and leaned forward. He was cautious so that he didn't ruin this moment and savoured it. He found himself smiling. Which was something he hadn't done for awhile. Hanji noticed too and was overjoyed.

Armin gasped. The window to the room was opened wide, the curtains swaying in the wind. He felt the air slam the door shut behind him. He shivered. Why wasn't the baby crying?
He rushed to close the window. He saw the city below from the great view of the window. He became distracted for a couple seconds before shaking his head and reaching out and closing the window.
He turned on the torch on his phone to see the surroundings. The cot fallen over. He gasped and ran to it. He lifted it up and withdrew the blanket.

Levi felt his cheeks go pink as the two finally pulled away. It was so nice to be out with Hanji. Away from the baby, away from the stress of going back home. He didn't want to think about the terrible things that led Hanji to be like this. This was a happy moment so he decided to save it.
He looked at Hanji's chocolate eyes, which shone with an energy he hadn't seen in a while. She actually looked content. Not tired or sad or anything slightly negative. The only negative thing was it would be years before anything like this would happen again. So Levi decided to cherish the moment.

Armin gasped in horror. What sat in the cot was not the child of Mr and Mrs Ackerman. It was..
a doll.
