Chapter 4 (Few months later)

It has now been a few months since my injury and my first in locker room interview (I have had plenty more now) or any NHL interview.  We are only a few weeks away to see if we have what it takes to win the Stanley Cup (we honestly do though). After tonight’s game I honestly don’t know how we lost but it was 7-2. Ok so I do it kind of starts with this whole I keep getting put out on penalty kill because to be honest my game isn’t that bad and I keep the puck out of our zone. But that’s not the point we let in four goals this game. But enough of that it doesn’t matter though. I just don’t want to be sent down that would be the worst for me.

We have 7 games to decide for if we can make it to the playoffs. But right now I’m thinking that maybe it’s my fault we lost because I can’t get the puck like I used to.

Next game-

Ok, so I didn’t play that bad last night.  I admit it but it’s going to drive me to tell coach Q to take me off the penalty kill because it was not a good experiment. I arrived 2 hours before game so I could be there and talk to coach to get everything finalized about my decision. “Quenville I want to be taken of the penalty kill,” I said.

“You are off it was just an experiment,” said Q.

“ Thank you,” I said.

“Now go get ready,” said Q.

A few hours later in the locker room…

“Lets go out there and put forth our best and if we do loose then lets make it look like we put forth our best effort,” said Seabrook. “ But that is the last resort to loose.”

“Come on lets go boys and Abby.” Said Toews. “ Lets go out there and skate like every shift is our last. But it won’t be because we are the Chicago Blackhawks.”

Now it’s the National Anthem. It’s so hard to stand still during it. But fortunately the hockey players get to sway back and forth. I’m so ready for this.

Play-by-play announcers had a exciting game tonight that is for sure the whole thing is the fact of which team will win.  So it’s the start of the second period and its 4-4. We have so many penalties but then again so does Dallas. I even have a freaking penalty.  But I also have a goal and assist. The great thing about it is that well you know I guess nothing at this point. Nice. Now lets go to the third hopefully we can get this.

To improve on my balance for the next period I decided I would do yoga also it helps get rid of all the acid build up in my legs so yeah. Everybody gave me kind of a look when I said “Ok yoga time for me.”

“Isn’t yoga for girls to get better muscle or something like that,” said Nick Leddy.

“No. Its more of which to help recovery time,” I argued.

“Wait were did you learn yoga,” Toews said.

“My 7th grade year in P.E. and now I go to a class for it when I have the time,” I replied.

“So when and where is your class?” Said Kane.

“Do you honestly think I would tell you besides none of the women there even know who you are? That’s why I go there even though I’m all over ESPN these women either don’t know who I am or they don’t say a thing to me.

I heard an echo of guys say “Oh burn” I just smiled and walked away.  I di a few exercises and then came back in so the conversation took about five minutes and the yoga took about five minutes. So I have to listen to the pep talks (not that I have any thing against them) now and go into the third hoping that we can pull a win out of our butts. If we can’t that is major energy spent on nothing.

Here we go. Now that we are in the third lets see what else we can stir up. I saw somebody give me an evil eye. I didn’t care but it was the guy I tripped on my penalty I got called. After awhile the play was stopped and then I talked to the ref. It was about if I got into a fight would I or the other person get suspended or something else or the other guy if he would. The ref told me it depends because he’d have to talk to Canada (well Toronto) about it, Canada is in another country but it reviews all goals, plays, etc. He will let me now ASAP.  Well I wanted to know now though. I got back to the bench everybody asked me what was going on and I said nothing but told Coach Q.

About ten minutes later with seven minute left the ref told me if I got into a fight that no suspensions or fines would be called. I told them thank you. So lets see if I can get some one to be gutty and get in a fight with me. I checked a few people to see if I could get one going but then I got checked roughly and then Bollig went up to the guy an said something but then I stepped in front of Bollig and said let me handle this. I then asked, “You wanna go?”

The guy lets say number 25 replied “ Can’t hit a girl. Especially can’t get into a fight with you.”

I looked at the ref and so did number 25. The ref nodded and we started circling each other. He threw the first punch and then I just started pounding. Lip started bleeding but then I noticed so is his nose. We both fell so it was called. I went back to the bench. “Did I also mention number two in both genders to pick a fight and go through with it,” I said.

“Atta girl,” yelled Bollig. “Nice fight.”

“I know,” I replied. Then we both nodded in approval of each other. As I go to the locker room I can still hear everybody cheering in the stands, still. Lip stitches never thought I would get them. I’m out for the rest of game. Due to the fact that there is 5 minutes left in the game and I just decided to go into the locker room for the rest of the game. I really hate the penalty box.

Ok so it wasn’t a bad game we won 6-4. Oh yay that’s also how you fight also. I can fight my own fights and now everybody knows it. But I’m going to go home and have dinner with one of my friends. So lets see how this goes. Because honestly those (Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews)  two will come and drash my dinner.
