Shadow sat in front of his grave. He took it all in. The red roses, the fresh roses that were blue, the quotes, everything. "You actually did this for me?" Shadow asked looking at Sonic who stood to the side. Nodding, Sonic responded. "Yeah, I loved you. It was the worst day for me and Rouge." They sat in silence before Sonic suddenly stood up with a brightened expression. "I'll be right back!" Sonic exclaimed as he ran back inside and back out. "Here. You need these. I'm guessing your feeling tired." Shadow looked at them as Sonic gave him rings. "My inhibitor rings!" Shadow exclaimed putting them on. "I don't even know how I know that." Shadow stated, grabbing his head. "Headache?" The blue speedster asked. "Yeah." Shadow answered. "I think..... I think we should go and hang out with your friends. Maybe it can get my memory back." Shadow thought, getting up. "Yeah, let's try that." Sonic agreed, a little upset. He wanted to spend a day with Shadow, even if he didn't remember him.
Shadow sat under a tree, bored and annoyed out of his mind. He thought hanging with them would help his memory, all it did to his mind was give it a headache. Silver and Blaze sat next to each other as they talked. They were always hanging out together. Shadow couldn't tell if they had a connection of siblings or as a couple. Tails and Sonic were hanging with Knuckles who was pestered by Rouge while Charmy and Cream were talking to Vector who would change in emotions. Like he'd be annoyed then embarrassed then angry then happy and it just went on and on. "Bored?" Shadow looked up into the branches of the tree to see Espio. Shadow stood up and started to climb the tree before sitting next to the chameleon. "Quite." Shadow stated.
Him and Espio talked and joked around. The noise of their laughing caught Sonics attention and he looked at the two, feeling jealous. Sonic walked over to the tree and climbed up. "Hey." Sonic greeted as Espio greeted him back. "What's wrong?" Shadow asked as Sonic just shook his head. "Sonics just jealous." Espio whispered to Shadow but loud enough to let Sonic hear. Sonic blushed in embarrassment. "That's not true!" Sonic denied as Shadow spoke up. "Faker." "What?" Sonic asked as he looked at Shadow. "You can't lie well." Shadow said before jumping down and raced away. "Sonic, if you want to get close to him, try telling him your feelings." Espio suggested as Sonic nodded.
After Sonic found Shadow they went home. Sonic offered Shadow his bed but he only declined. The blue speedster soon went to bed, leaving his partner on the couch. After couple of hours waiting, Shadow crept onto the roof. He watched the stars and the moon. It reminded him of Maria. Who was Maria? Did he even know her? Was she one of their 'friends'? Or, maybe he made her up? Shadow was getting another headache. He climbed down from the roof before going back inside and heading to sleep. Another headache. Sighing, he collapsed on the couch, exhausted.
Sonic walked out to the living room the next day, hoping Shadow was still there. And he did find him, thankfully. He was laying on his stomach, mumbling gibberish. Sonic walked over to him, scratching behind his ear. Shadow purred between his mumbling. "I love *purr*." Shadow then mumbled. Sonic smiled before placing a kiss on his forehead and left to make breakfast.
Shadow awoke with a start. He got up and headed to the kitchen,
"Morning." Shadow said, rubbing his eyes. "Morning sleepy head!" Sonic said cheerfully. "Why are you happy? It's so sunny out and I've got to deal with the Commander. Pain in the ass." Shadow mumbled as he sat down, slowly drifting to sleep. "Woah! Wait, Shadow. Did you get your memory back?!" Sonic asked excited. Shadow sat up straight. "What?!" He asked, alarmed. "What? I asked if you got your memory back." Shadow looked confused. "What? Did I? I don't think so." Shadow shook his head. "But you-- You just talked about the Commander." Sonic noted as Shadow thought. "Really? Who's the Commander?" Shadow asked. "He's your boss. Your an agent." Sonic said. "You know, I was on the roof last night and I was looking at the stars. Then I thought that it reminded me of a girl named Maria. I think she was in my past since I didn't meet her yesterday. I want to know everything." Shadow stated. Sonic agreed and served them breakfast.
