-Jiyeon-
As soon as I woke up again I let out a heavy sigh, feeling stressed out. I sat up and let out a yelp, then I remembered I shouldn't yell and I cover my mouth.
"Jiyeon, can't you tell me?" Seungcheol begged while looking up at the ceiling, I did the same and stared at the boring ceiling.
"I can't tell you," I said with no emotion.
"Tell me or else I'll tell your mom about your boyfriend."
"I already broke up with him so it doesn't matter." I said plainly as Seungcheol sat right up hurting his leg, "Owwww. When did that happen."
I didn't say anything and tried to reach for my phone to try to drive the conversation to another lane. I pressed the home button to my phone but nothing happens. I pressed the power button, nothing happens. I groaned as I continued to press the home button, the sound of the phone crashing onto the table echoed in the room.
I didn't have my charger and I was stupid to not ask someone to bring me one, although I only used it twice for a whole entire week, it still died. I didn't even know when it died on me.
"Ji, ji, ji, if you tell me I'll let you borrow my charger."
"Forget it I'll ask someone else." I stood up but he stopped me, "Nuh uh uh! I knew your phone was dead so your doctor told me to make this deal and he would stop you from leaving the room until you told me."
"What if I need to go to the restroom?"
"He'll just get someone to follow you." he laughed, "You can't get away with this so you better tell me."
I sighed and walked back to my table to poke at the button again, it jumped every time I pressed it and then it jumped off the table to the floor before I could pick up my phone Seungcheol picked it up and placed it on the table.
I frowned as he clasped his hands together and begged, "Please tell me or else the doctor will get made at me."
I sighed, "Let's make a deal, I'll tell you and then you'll give me your charger, buy me dalgona and buy me an expensive meal." He nodded quickly, sealing the deal, I pulled the chair over to his bed and sat down.
I breathed in and started, "Lee Jungsoo, the man who killed my father...
FLASHBACK
"Appa!" I shouted as he chased after me on the blank streets, quiet from the loud traffic a few miles away. He smiled and laughed as he chased after me. Vacationing in Jeonju wasn't a bad idea after all, even though it meant leaving my best friend, Jinhwa, alone to take care of his mother and siblings.
I ran down a street with no cars and many abandoned buildings, I stopped. In the middle of the road as my father called out, "Jiyeon! Don't stand over there, hurry and come back to me."
I didn't listen, for I was suddenly scared of what was around me, living in somewhere which was almost never isolated, this place was scary to the little me.
Before I knew it I was pushed to the ground and when I looked up my father was bleeding and the car had sped away. I tried to keep him awake and to look for help, out of luck a couple drove by and called for medics right away.
His last words to me was, "It was not your fault." and he whispered, "My death is not your cause." afraid it would corrupt my mind and make me crazy. He was rushed to the hospital but was announced dead when they reached there, I was too late and I couldn't save him.
My mother, who was at the place we were staying, rushed to the hospital, crying her eyes out like I was. The police looked into the hit and run, they revealed the licsence plate to my mother and brought the criminal to the police station.
I confirmed it was him.
But they wouldn't believe a child. So they spent time to confirm that and when they found out it definitely was him they asked him some questions.
And he answered them but one stuck in my head the most. He blamed my father for killing his sister. His sister was claimed dead in the records, her cause of death was unknown, possibly suicide but he said his sister was fine before and it was my father who pushed her in.
I protested.
And they refused to believe me.
He was thrown into jail for 12 years for intentional murder, what a short time it was, and for us, they believed he pushed her in and they sued us, we lost money and soon fell apart.
Just because a little girl said her father didn't do it.
FLASHBACK END
I had tears running down my face as I finished my story, I cried and cried for a long while. I just couldn't stop, I rather much collapse but I just couldn't. The pain and the sadness, how could they do that, just because they didn't want to believe a child.
Seungcheol wiped my tears away with his thumb as he held my face. I still cried, it was like a never ending waterfall.
"It's okay, it's okay." he whispered, trying to calm me down. It worked a little but I cried without noise as tears just continued to stream down, a sniffle here and there.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked you to tell me."
"No I'm sorry for looking so ridiculous." but even the joke I made didn't stop me from crying. He laughed lightly but tears continued to pour out of my eyes. [play TRACK 3]
There was silence for a minute and before I knew it, his face was just centimeters away from mine, his hands still cupping my face. But I surprised myself as a strange force pushed me closer, the both of us in unison, move in to capture each other's lips.
And in that moment the world had stopped spinning.
