(The Lullaby)

Sabrina was at school, walking to the principal's office, asked to introduce a new student to the school. She was unsure if it was a girl or a boy, for the information being very vague about the student.

She pushed the door open with her free hand, holding a small binder of the new student's schedule and a map of the school. She walked in, her grey eyes meeting with blue ones. He was tall with some short brown hair covering his forehead. He waved at Sabrina, snapping her out of her trance.

"Sabrina. This is Kennedy Walker. I think you know the gist, now get to your studying minors!" Principal Cabrera chuckled at her joke and motioned for them to go. Sabrina held open the door for Kennedy and followed after him.

"So, I'm Sabrina. Your schedule is in this binder and a map of the school. Must I say more..?" Sabrina blurted out her usual introduction and waited for his response. "Well, hi Sabrina. I'm Ken and can't you show me around..?" He seemed taken-aback from Sabrina. Ken expected a quirky girl to spring around and give him the basics of the new highschool lifestyle he's going to be living.

But no. He got a neutral, conceded girl who looked like a toddler in her height. "Okay... More missed class time for me." She grinned a little, enjoying the silence. Ken couldn't bear the silence. She pointed out the classes in his map and explained what they do in each class. He had three periods with her, tagging along to get to the next period. Soon enough, Ken and Sabrina were walking home, chatting about the day.

"You moved in from Georgia? Have you ever been to theme parks in Florida..?" "I've heard of some but I haven't really been to any." Sabrina nodded in response. Ken was starting to like her, as a friend obviously. Sabrina waved to Ken as he continued walking after she arrived at her house.

After watching the daily news, Sabrina decided to do her homework. Suddenly, a green flash startled her as she blinked. "Sparrow...?!" Sabrina fell over her couch, scared by his sudden appearance. "Oh I'm already that famous..?" He laughed and walked up to Sabrina, helping her up. She cautiously took his hand and brushed herself off.

Lily was off the walls, barking at the Sparrow like he was the mailman. Sparrow tried to pet her, but she clawed at his ankle, tickling him in the process. "Look, I'm in need of some help. There's a new baddie in town, her name is Lullaby. She's terrorizing the town with her SUPER annoying songs and-" "She's hypnotizing all the citizens to do her bidding I know." Sabrina shrugged and pointed at the news playing in front of her. The two quarreled about the Raven while Lily snuck into the dog food bag undetected.

"Why exactly am I included in this..?"
"Well, you know the Raven!"
"Uh, how exactly..?"
"Duh, your always there when she's there. You must know her!"
"Well I do!" A woman shouted from outside of Sabrina's house. It was her! Lullaby smirked at the two, making Sparrow run out into the street. Sabrina ran into her room to transform but she was stopped by an ear-splitting screech. She fell to the ground, covering her ears and screaming in pain.
"Now, to find the Raven to join the party!" Lullaby walked into Sabrina's house, finding Sabrina scurrying into her room. She laid on the door as it closed, transforming into Raven while covering her ears. The screech was continuous, taunting her and taking her concentration. Sabrina was losing consciousness, trying to find something to stop the screech.

The Sparrow was down on the ground, trying to catch his breath after Lullaby's attack. He could sense the Raven was near, hearing Lullaby's screeching in Sabrina's house. The noise came to a stop and The Sparrow could sense The Raven's presence disappearing. He dashed into Sabrina's house and found nothing. Lullaby took her!

He knew he shouldn't have brought her into this, it was a risk he decided to take. He was foolish for going to her for help, she was just a normal girl!

Sabrina was held by Lullaby as she kept playing her song, making more citizens follow her forcefully. It was hard to block out the noise, it would go on for what seemed like miles and miles. Meanwhile, The Sparrow used Sabrina's headphones and her phone, having a song already on. It read, "Dead to Me." Great, perfect for the mood. He figured the artist Melanie Martinez was just some emo singer and went right along. (That was his opinion, not mine! I love this song and many more of hers! c: ) (YOU KNOW WHO ELSE THINKS SOMEONE IS EMO??)

He flew, blasting and humming a bit to the song. When he noticed the lyrics, he figured that might as well be Sabrina's mood when she found out The Sparrow pretty much led Lullaby to her home. "Sorry for all the stupid sh-" The Sparrow winced with that line of profanity. Geez what other songs could she have? That was when he looked down at her phone and noticed her whole playlist was filled with Melanie Martinez AND explicit words. He hoped it wouldn't affect combat.

Sabrina had blood running down her forehead as she was summoned for Lullaby's duties. Her back slouched as she nodded at Lullaby. "That Sparrow seems to like you, why don't you call for your little birdie..?" Lullaby cackled when Sabrina went out of the abandoned building and screamed. The Sparrow heard her, gasping and hoping she didn't get hurt. His eyes met hers as he swooped down. His eyes widened when she saw Sabrina's bright eyes replaced with dull, colorless grey ones.

"W-what did they do..." He looked up at her and shook his head. 'It was my fault, she's hurt, she's gone!' Lullaby pushed Sabrina down and punched The Sparrow. He fell back and growled.

"Aren't birds like you supposed to chirp..?" She taunted him as he watched Sabrina lay on the ground with her eyes still open. He pounced at Lullaby and toppled the two of them over. He held her down as she gasped for air. She would slowly dissipate into thin air as slowly everyone disappeared except him and Sabrina. He looked up and saw everyone confused. He had returned everything to normal. Sabrina looked at Sparrow and narrowed her eyes. "What are you doing listening to my music..?"

He sighed in relief and just hugged Sabrina tightly. She nervously patted his back softly and sighed. "I thought I lost you..." Sabrina widened her eyes and let go. "Um... I mean in which if I lost you, I couldn't have found the Raven! Yeah..." Sabrina laughed and elbowed him in the side. She saw an unfamiliar glint in his eye, something she couldn't point out on her own. She shrugged and waved goodbye, walking back home.

A flurry was falling around her, on the trees she walked by and coating the streets. She looked up and smiled, loving the small snow tickle her nose. That smile was the replaced with a determined expression. This was not just snow, it was a sign. A sign that a storm is coming.
