4rth Phase

Mayonaka's POV: "The fourth phase will take place over there, on Zevil Island," the guy with the glasses said. "Let us proceed." He snapped his fingers. A guy came, rolling a cart with a green box. "I will need you to draw lots." "Lots?" someone asked in the back. "For what?" another guy asked. The man in the glasses, (who I now am assuming is the examiner) responded, "To determine who will hunt and who will be hunted. In here are twenty six numbered cards." he explained, "In other words your ID numbers are on the cards. Now I need each of you to draw a card," he went on, "In the order by which you exited the tower. Will the first person come forward?" Hisoka walked up. That's when I noticed he had two large cuts on his shoulder and waist. Well he must have been through a lot. He picked one card from the box and went back. Next was Grittarickuar. He also picked a card from the box. Then it was my turn. I walked up picked a card and went back. Then the ninja and other people I didn't know. Haku and the boy in green were the last ones. With the guy named Leorio. And that guy named Tompa. "Everyone has taken a card? Then remove the seal from your card. I removed the seal and saw the number. '92' I instantly recognized the number. "Oh..." I murmured. "What's wrong?" asked Grittarickuar. "Nothing." He nodded. "The card indicates your target." The examiner went on saying, "This box has recorded which card each of you drew. This means that you're free to dispose of the cards if you wish. The object is to steal your target's ID tag." I nodded. Then someone said "Oh, so we don't need to kill each other." I almost burst out laughing. The guy apparently is just trying to get people not to kill him. "Naturally, you're free to use any method you choose to steal the ID tags. Including killing your target and taking the tag off the corpse." said the examiner. "That sounds like the fastest way." Another guy said. "S-so this is what this is about?" asked the same guy said. "Fool there is nothing to be scared of." Another guy said. "Listen carefully!" shouted the examiner. "Your tag is worth three points. Your target's ID tag is worth three points. Other ID tags are worth one point. You need six points to advance to the final phase. So while on Zevil Island, you must collect enough ID tags to total six points. That is the condition for clearing the Hunter Exam's 4rth Phase.

Haku's POV: I sat with Gon. Killua walked over, "Yo" he sat with us and we just stared at the sky. "What number did you two draw?" asked Killua. "Secret." Me and Gon said. "What about you?" I asked. "Secret." he said. There was silence for a moment then we laughed sheepishly. "Don't worry. You two aren't my target." "And my target isn't you." said Gon. "Lets show our target numbers at the same time." I said. They nodded. "Ready, and..." We put our cards out. Gon had Hisoka and Killua got one of the brothers. I had that woman with a shotgun. "Seriously? You two have really bad luck." said Killua surprised. "You think so?" asked Gon. I shrugged. "Who's #199?" I shrugged again, not wanting to tell them. I actually only knew it was one of the brothers, not specifically who. "You don't know either?" "Uh" "I didn't bother to memorize everyone's numbers." Gon looked at his card while I just listened to Killua. "After the initial explanation, I started checking tags, But everyone had already removed them. That's so lame..." Killua and me looked at Gon. He looked a little weird. "Gon." "Eh what?" "Are you happy or scared?" asked Killua. Gon thought for a moment. "Both I guess.... In a straight up fight, I wouldn't stand a chance but if I only need to steal his ID tag, then I have a real shot." "Yeah" said Killua. Gon continued, "Right now I might actually have a chance. That scares me a little.... but I think its worth it." "I see." Killua said. "Well lets do our best." I got up "Make sure you two stay alive." I said a little worried but determent. They both nodded "You too." I smiled and walked away with my skate board.

Illumi's POV: "Thanks for your patience, everyone." Said the woman. I stifled a yawn. This time it was me who fell asleep. I was so tired for some reason. "Aw you two were so cute." Whispered Hisoka to me and Mai while the examiner was explaining. "Eh?" Me and Mai asked, confused. "You two were both sleeping, and your heads were leaning on each other." said Hisoka chuckling. "I don't believe you Hisoka!" whined Mai. "Oh yeah? Why not?" asked Hisoka, challenging her a little. "Cause you're Hisoka." She said. "What does that mean?" asked Hisoka. "You almost always lie." "That's true" I pointed out. Hisoka pouted. "You two didn't fall for it." I let myself relax. It would have been quite embarrassing if that really happened, especially here. "Now please disembark in the order by which who cleared the third phase." Hisoka would be first then me then Mai then, well 23 more people. As she just explained, each of us will have two minutes before the other follows after. Hisoka, as I expected, went first. Two minutes passed.Then I went second. As I entered the Island, it seemed to get louder. I decided to wait for Mai somewhere, she was quite entertaining. I climbed up a tree and peered down. After four minutes I saw her walking. I jumped down. She jumped at least two feet in the air, surprised. "Grittarickuar!" she whined, and I simply laughed. "You should have seen the look on your face!" I told her between my laughs. She pouted. But then she looked curious. "Hey Grittarickuar why do you have all those pins in your face?" I smiled. 'Should I tell her?' I thought. Well I could tell her without worrying about her revealing my little disguise. I slowly pulled the pins out of my face. She watched, her eyes widening a little. I felt my real hair falling, covering the back of my neck. I sighed, these pins were quite uncomfortable. "Oh! So you're Illumi!" she said surprised. Then she looked confused again. "What's your real name?" "Its Illumi, but when I'm disguised I'm Grittarickuar." I answered. Then I asked her a question "Do you think I look better with my pins or just normal. I thought she would say normal but she thought for a second. "Actually you look a little better normal but your Grittarickuar disguise stands out perfectly." I hummed. Thinking about it, she was actually right. "I never thought about it like that." I said. She nodded. "Is Mai your real name?" I asked. She hesitated. "No my real name is Mayonaka." She said smiling. I nodded, this time I knew she was truthful. We sat on the ground in silence. My phone rang, and I saw it was Hisoka. I sighed. "Sorry Mayonaka I have to go." " Oh well, see you soon." I smiled and ran off looking for Hisoka.

Mayonaka's POV: I got up and started looking for my brother. A few minutes later I saw him, sitting on a tree branch. "Hey bro." I greeted and he jumped out of the tree alarmed. He relaxed. "Oh, its you." He said, recognizing me. He sighed irritated. "Why must you follow me everywhere." He groaned. "Well I need your ID tag." "I need yours too." We swapped cards quickly. "Thanks!" we both said.
