"What?!" Scar yowled. "She cannot be!" He pushed himself off the high rock in one flying leap and bounded towards the nursery, wails bouncing off the nursery walls. "What happened?" Scar demanded. "Leaf" Fern sobbed "She is gone." Scar wrapped his tail reassuringly around the she-wolfs shoulders. "Doesn't mean she is dead! Send out search parties! Hazel! Darcy! Gravel! Go search for Leaf. Quick!" They dipped their heads as they flew out the camp, yowling Leaf's name. Meanwhile, Scar bounded out, turning towards the river to find Leaf. Leaf was a pretty little she-wolf pup. Only 5 moons old. She had brown fur and forest green eyes. Scar tore across the forest floor to the river bank, yowling for Leaf. He stopped when he heard a feeble wail from where the water fall was. "In coming Leaf!" Scar yowled, running down to the waterfall, to find poor Leaf being swept about in the icy torrent of the river. Without hesitation, Scar jumped in, the icy water giving way to emptiness around his paws, and swam his way towards struggling Leaf, who was being dragged towards the waterfall at a frightening speed. Using the remaining amounts of his strength, Scar thrust his neck out and grabbed Leaf's scruff, swimming back to he other river bank and hauling himself and shivering Leaf out. He now ran to the camp yowling "I got her! Leaf! I got her!" He rushed through the camp doors and thrust little Leaf into Fern's fur, barking "Keep her warm!" Fern licked Leaf over and over again, making her dry. "Oh thank you Scar!" She nuzzled Leaf as Leaf's dad, Rock, came running through "Leaf! Where have you been?" Leaf told her story with little barks as she lay shivering. "Thank you Scar!" Rock said as Leaf was done. Scar dipped his head "Of course, Rock." He padded out of the nursery as he heard showers of compliments rain over him.
