Kaison entering Quarantine City age 12-
The place was bustled around and very small compared to the neighborhood she used to live in. This seemed more like a decent sized villiage. Plastic rimmed the entry as well as many adults with masks. I held my father's hand as we entered and stood in front of a man with a giant needle. He shook my hand off of his and looked down at me. "You are to be strong! It's just a needle." He scoffed.
Wiping my tears I nodded and held my arm out. The needle was inserted and tears stung at my eyes. It hurt but I wanted father to be proud. After a moment the needle left and I smiled.
They bandaged my arm and looked up, "I didn't cry Father, see?" I show him my watery eyes that hadn't she'd a single tear. However, he was already pushing me to a group of kids.
"People here will take care of you and bring you home later." With that, he left.
I wanted to scream instead I held my composure and tugged on my brown leather coat.
"Hello!" I called out to a couple of girls. They looked over, whispered and walked over to me.
I smiled and waved at everyone. The blonde girl, she circled around me and tugged my hair frowning. "Mmmm much too dark." I held my hair in my hands, blushing pink. Another girl, her hair was short and red bent down and gripped my nose, "mmmm much too big, Pinnochio!" They all laughed.
Tears threatened to fall when I heard a spiteful and sassy voice.
"Is there a problem here?!" I turned to see a small looking girl with a nerdy boy behind her. They scoffed and the blonde rolled her eyes. "Move along twerps!" She called. Only for a teenage boy to stand next to the girl and boy. The group in front of me tried to look in phased but left anyways.
"My name's Aaron, this is Sam, and his friend Zayo." The older boy explained. I blushed and shook his hand. They smiled at me and that's when I realized I'd never be alone again.
"I'm Kaison!" I said cheerfully.Everything was black.
As if someone not only turned off the lights in the tunnel but my head.It felt like I was floating and every once in a while I slammed down into my body. I'd hear voices, some familiar, others not so much.
The one I heard was Zayo and the thought kept me strong. She hadn't left my side and I knew that. She'd be there for me, I hope she was alright. The guy however, was another story. He seemed so familiar but so different.
Pain struck me in my head and that's how I knew I was waking up.
"I don't understand...no...Simon you left us...left me..." Zayo's voice was in and out. I grumbled and began moving around.
"Z-zayo...." I managed to muster. My tongue felt like cotton and my head ached.
A cold hand touched my arm and I sat up. Luckily it was fairly dim in the room I was in so it didn't hurt when I opened my eyes. However, the sight in front of me made me believe I was still in my blacked out state.
Zayo sat next to me looking relieved and next to a single lamp. I looked down, I was on a cot with cushion. The fabric was soft but the air around me was cold.
"Kaison..." I looked up to see a familiar face in front of me. I held up my hand and slowly rose up. Zayo stood up to help me but I refused. Standing and letting my headache settle I looked at the man in front of me.
I walked to him, smirked and wrapped my arms around his neck. "Holy cow, Simon!!!" If I hadn't just woke up I'd probably cry. He wrapped his arms around my waist and squeezed.
The man in front of me had the same blonde hair, but his face was more chiseled. He still had the nerdy look to him but it was a bit....well hot more than cute. His body was lean but not too much muscle. He was significantly taller than me and had a slight tan.
He still wore glasses, they almost hid his beautiful brown eyes. They were always so wide with curiosity. Now they were filled eith wisom. He was wearing a grey t-shirt with blue jeans that fit him well.
I chuckled and felt him run his hands through my hair. Finally, I released and smiled up at him, he blushed a little and smiled widely.
A cough came from someone nearby. I looked over to see the guy I had fought with. He gave me a lopsided grin and held the back of his head and looked guilty.
"Hey little Kaison, it's Aaron...I'm sorry about the whole thi-" I stopped him by running up and throwing my arms around him.
"You stupid idiot!!" I said, laughing and shaking my head. I turned my head and looked at Zayo. I was so giddy with excitement. I honestly thought I lost my friends, family.
She smiled at me and walked over to her.
"I'm glad you're okay." I told her and she hugged me.
"Hey I can take care of myself." She said and jokingly punched my shoulder. Smiling I held her hand and squeezed it tightly.
"I know you can..." I whispered and looked around quickly remembering where we were at.
The happiness I felt slowly sunk and my smile disappeared.
"Where are we...how could this place even exist?!" I asked, questioning everything.
The boys looked at each other and then smirked, "Our parents were smart, built this way out here when we lived here." Aaron began.
Simon nodded, "we got as many people we could, once our city had been attacked our parents gave us the keys to an RV and sent us off. They had to go with your father Kaison."
I nodded, things slowly began to make sense. Until the roof began to shake and the boys shared a look with Zayo.
I looked between them, "What?" I asked in confusion.
Aaron leaned on the cots end and looked down. "This place is breaking down, we don't have much time..." he muttered.
Well fuck.
