Anna's POV.

School wasn't bad. Especially for it being my last day. I had to clean out my lockers and I had to return books. I said goodbye to all my teachers. I even flicked off a few I hate with a burning passion.

Mrs. Tanner was hard to say goodbye to.

She was really my favorite teacher, and that was the only class I had with Jace. I'm gonna miss the rooftop and even the pit. But honestly, I'm finally going to be attending a school where there's people like me. I love that.

Jace was right. I had to make a few stops at the bathroom during the first three classes just to throw up. My ibuprofen wore off. My headache came back. I had to take more.

Jace and I walk around the mall. We look at the different clothing shops they have, and restaurants.

It feels great holding hands with someone that means everything to me, in public. I feel like I can show him off. I can finally step up and say "I'M NOT SINGLE." I don't have to be an outcast. I know what the non-single life is like.

We walk past a piercing shop. I stop and look through the window. I see a woman piercing a teenage girls ears. I lick my lips.

"Oh no," Jace says. I turn to him. He stands behind me, shaking his head. "Please?"

Jace stands there and stares through the window, at the woman piercing. "Wouldn't I look super fucking cool if I had pierced ears?"

"Not really. It's just a Diamond stuck on your ear lobe. It's nothing special," He says. I roll my eyes. "Oh come on!" I grab his hand and pull him with me in the store. I look around at all the earrings.

"I take it you don't have pierced ears?"

I shake my head. "Of course not. My dad doesn't even want my mom to have pierced ears," I say. He squints his eyes.

"Please?" I beg. Jace looks around. "I mean-"

"What if I got a nose piercing?"

Jace turns to me. "That's a little too much-"

"I should get an upper lobe piercing, a nose ring, oh what about my belly?"

"Are you high?" Jace asks. I turn to him. I glare at him. "I'm just excited," I say softly. Jace chuckles. "It's just piercings. Calm down."

"You don't know how badly I want to change, Jace! I've always wanted my ears pierced. Now I want my nose, too!"

"What about the belly?" He asks.

"You'd let me do that?" I ask. He nods. "It's disturbing but whatever you want," He says. I smile.

"Are you sure?" I ask. He nods. I turn around and look at the rings. A clerk comes up to me. "Are you wanting to get a piercing?" She asks. I nod. "Standard lobes, upper lobes, nose, and navel," I say. She nods. "That's a lot. But okay!"

Jace rolls his eyes. I smile. "Follow me," The clerk says. I follow her to the back room.

After screaming from the piercings, and trying to hold still, I walk out of the back room. I walk up to Jace. He sits on a bench in the corner of the store. He looks up from his phone. His eyes widen.

"Does it look good?" I ask. I look in the mirror above his head. He nods. "I like it!" He says. I smile. I lift up my shirt just above my belly button. "This hurts, a lot. But it was worth it!" I say. He smiles.

Jace pays for the piercings, and the clerk hands me a bag with things to take care of the piercings. We walk out of the store.

"I was thinking we could get something to eat. But now I'm broke," He says. I giggle. "Thank you so much!" He smiles. "No problem. So, Peyton's having a party tonight. Wanna come?" He asks.
