Anna's POV.
I walk inside the house around nine-thirty. I gently close the door, guessing everyone is awake. I turn and face the living room, taking off my shoes.
My dad walks downstairs, turning his head to look at me. His eyes widen. "Good morning, Savannah," He greets. I nod. "Good morning," I say softly.
My dad walks into the kitchen, grabbing his coffee mug from the counter. He pours himself a cup of coffee.
I gulp as I lean against the counter, nervously tapping my fingers against the counter. "Uh, did anything about the boarding school come?" I ask.
My dad nods. "They sent a welcome paper for the next school year. Therefore, I'm guessing you got in," He says. I nod. I sigh.
"Dad, could I ask you something?"
He looks at me as he sips from his mug. "Of course!" He says.
I look down. "I really don't want to go to the boarding school. I know you're sending me there because of my behavior and my education. I was thinking last night, maybe I could go back to St Andrews?"
My dads eyes widen, he straightens his back. He takes a breath.
"Wow, I didn't think you'd ever ask that-"
"It's the only thing left to do, if I don't go to the boarding school," I say.
My dad nods. He lets out his breath, and walks over to the sink in front of the window. He grabs a small picture frame, with a picture of me when I was in first grade. My hair is in two pigtails and I'm missing my two front teeth. I'm wearing overalls and a pink long sleeved shirt, while leaning against my pink Barbie jeep.
He brings it over to me. He holds it in front of me. "I know you're growing up, but I miss this little girl. She clung by my side, and she would sing at church events. She loved performing. She loved playing with her siblings. She was so smart and she was amazing in school. It seems now, I've lost her. I'm not sure where she went. She's been gone ever since she met that one boy. That's why I always told her to never date anyone before she was eighteen. I knew whoever she would find, would change her," He says.
I stare at the picture, taking in every word. Every word sticks to my mind, engraving into it. I take a deep breath as I glance up at my dad.
"Savannah, please promise me you won't disrespect us anymore. You'll go back to St Andrew's and graduate and get a degree, and move on with your life. You don't need him, Savannah Rae. You really don't."
My stomach sinks as I feel my body go numb. My mind is stuck on the one thought. The thought of leaving IPAA, and going back to the old lifestyle.
This is the only way I can live with my parents and not argue and fight.
I'm doing this for my parents.
Not so much me.
I gulp as I look down. "It sounds like you're making me break up with Jace, if I go back..."
My dad nods. "It's for the best," He says, putting his hand on my shoulder. I gently close my eyes, thinking of Jace. How heartbroken he'll be.
"I can't break up with him," I say softly.
My dad nods. "You can."
I look down as I take a few steps back. "I need time, please don't rush me on this. You don't understand how much he means to me. You never will."
My dads eyes widen. I turn around and slowly walk upstairs to my bedroom. I close the door behind me, as I drop my bag.
I walk over to my bed, and gently sit on it. I feel my heart sink more and more. Tears fill in my eyes. I close my eyes tightly. I take a breath.
