As I run out of my 3rd period to head to lunch because you know food, I don't notice that i'm about to run into someone until I'm on my ass on the floor. I look up to see who I ran into and see the worst possible person I could have ever run into; Ian Ryder.

"I-I-I'm so s-sorry I didn't mean to run into you I swear." I stutter as I stay on the floor, terrified.

"It's fine. Don't worry about it." I hear him talk for the first time and let me tell you; his voice is hot. Like full on pantie dropping hot. As I'm daydreaming I see his hand reaching out to me. I stare at it confused.

"Do you want help, or are you just going to stay on the floor all day staring?" He says sounding annoyed. Bipolar much?

"Oh yeah. Thanks." I say as I reach out and touch his hand. The second I brush my fingers against his I see it. Color. I gasp and pull my hand away, surprised.

"Did you see that?" I ask him, breathless.

"See what?" He asks confused. And with those two words, my heart is crushed.

"Oh, uh nothing. Nevermind." I say trying to hide my disappointment and heartbreak. I pull myself off the floor avoiding his outstretched hand. I try and walk around him but I feel his hand wrap around my arm and I see it again. The beautiful colors. They are so bright. I don't know how to describe them.

I'm snapped out of my beautiful daydream when Ian says "Hey, what's wrong with you? What are you doing?" I pull my arm out of his grasp and I'm disappointed that I can't see the colors anymore. I wonder why I can only see them when he touches me. I'll have to ask mom and dad.

"Yeah I'm fine. Are you sure that you didn't see anything?" I ask pleadingly hoping that he saw them this time.

"What are you talking about? I didn't see anything are you crazy or something?" He says looking at me confused and a bit annoyed.

"No I'm not crazy!" I yell at him, frustrated. "I just thought I saw something but" I pause, "I guess I was wrong." I walk away with my head down in disappointment and walk to the lunch room.

As soon as I get there, I immediately look for Sam. I look around and see her sitting with her boyfriend, Edward and his group of friends. I quickly walk over to them and sit down next to Sam.

"Hey girl! Where were you? You're never late to lunch." she says as she grabs a french fry off her tray.

"Sorry I ran into some trouble." I'm not really lying, Ian is trouble.

"What, did you get in trouble for skipping again?"

"No not this time." I say with a small smile. She knows me so well.

"Then what happened? Are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine it was nothing. Don't worry about it." I feel bad for shutting her out but I'm not quite ready to talk to her about what happened. I want to talk to my mom and dad first.

"Okay if you're sure. I'm here if you want to talk about it. You know that right?"

"I know, Sam thank you." I give her a genuine smile. I took a bite of my PB&J sandwich, and nearly choke when I see who sits across the table from me.

"Hey guys how-" Ian stops as he sees me sitting across from him.

"Oh. What are you doing here?" He asks glaring at me.

I gawk at him and his rudeness.

"I'm sorry your highness I'm sitting with my best friend." I snap back tired of his crap. Everyone around gasps as they hear me talk back to him.

"Oh you've got some spunk now. That's hot." He smirks.

Unable to respond, I take another bite of my sandwich and sink down into my chair, waiting for lunch to end. As if it couldn't get any worse, the familiar sound of the intercom,

"AVA WILLIAMS REPORT TO THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE NOW." Uh-oh. This can't be good.

"Oh did the little princess get in trouble?" Ian says with a mocking pout. I ignore him and head to the office to face the wrath of the principle. When I get there, I wasn't expecting to see my very angry parents sitting there waiting for me. Can this day get any worse?

The first words out of my dad's mouth were, "You are so grounded." Apparently it CAN get worse.
