Try Hard || Luke Hemmings

Chapter 1

Skye's POV
I walked down the crowded streets to the recording studio. I wonder what celebrity it'll be this time. My dad also makes me help write songs and sometimes even play some instruments. Lost in my thoughts, I accidentally bump into a girl, who looks about my age,with long dark hair.

"Oh I'm sorry!" I apologize, my eyes widening. She shakes her head and smiles at me.

"It's fine. I should have been looking where I was going." She laughs. I give her one last apologetic look and continue down the street until I push open the door to the recording studio, following the music.

I open the door, and to my surprise, the room is already crowded, with four boys in the booth, and five boys, all squeezing onto the small couch. The music stops when my dad sees me.

"Skye!" He calls causing everyone to turn and look at me. The four boys come out of the booth and I realize, that I am standing in the same room, with the boys of One Direction, and Five Seconds of Summer.

Luke's POV
The producer, Tim cuts the music and the boys and I walk out of the booth, confused. Everybody is looking at a girl, who must be Tim's daughter that he's mentioned. She's the most beautiful girl, I have ever seen in my life. She looks around, at all the people in the room, and then her blue eyes meet mine. She holds my gaze for a minute and then continues looking around the room, before finally speaking.

"Hi Dad." She quickly hugs Tim.
"Hi sweetie you're just in time. Let me introduce you to all of the boys." He introduces us and when he gets to me, we lock eyes again.

Skye's POV
I feel the heat spreading over my cheeks as I look at the boy that Dad introduced as Luke. Something about him is so mesmerizing, that I tear my gaze away to the last boy that my father introduces as Ashton.

"Hi" I give them an awkward wave, and then giggle. The boys say hello back and I turn to my dad.

"Love, I was wondering.. I know you've been looking for some money.. And I know SYCO would pay you if you could maybe, you know help the boys with some songwriting and maybe help record some tracks?" My dad requests using a puppy dog face. Damnit. He knows I'll give in with that face.

"Oh... Fine damnit." My dad and all the boys cheered. I even laughed.
"Okay Skye. You start tomorrow. Don't be late, and we're done here, so if you want to maybe get to know the boys a little better, you could all hang out." The boys smiled at my father's suggestion. I nodded and had barely grabbed my bag, when they ushered me outside with them.

Luke's POV
"Dude what was happening with you and Tim's daughter back in there?" Ashton asked quietly while we were walking to our hotel.

"Umm.. I don't know?" I tried, unsure what to say.

"I have NEVER seen you look at a girl that way. " Ashton grinned at me.

"Okay, okay. she was really pretty. But I have to get to know her before I think about liking her. " Ashton nodded
I stared off into space though, remembering the sparkle in her light blue eyes, and the melodic sound of her laugh.
