Chapter 3: Meeting × A × Friend!

Ui's Point of view...

"He he he..." I trailed off. Boy do I feel so awkward right now. But I stayed quiet.

"...I see. Nice to meet you. Ui-san." Kurapika said, no trace of emotion on his face. Just seriousness.

"Eh? Oh, you don't have to call me that, Ui is fine! Better yet, you can call me Ui-chan! Hehe~" Smooth, so smooth Ui. I mentally cursed st myself for saying such a cringable line. Wait, is that even a sentence— Off topic! Do off topic bro!

The blond narrowed his eyes at me, and I felt like I was about to melt. No, not that kind, but melt as in melt because of the intensity of the stare.

But instead of showing my fear, I put my hands up which surprised the three, or rather two. Since Leorio was still sulking since I called him a perv.

"Listen, I'm nice. I don't have any bad intention on my mind. Promise, I'm just here to try and pass the exam. And, maybe find some friends on the way." I said. He stared at me, before sighing.

"I guess you don't look dangerous." He said.

"See! Ui-chan's a nice person! Right?" I turned to Gon, and shoot him a smile. "Right!"

"Haven't seen you guys around."

We looked at the direction of the voice and saw a rounded small man.

He hopped down and walked towards us. By then, Leorio was all good and was staring at the man.

"You must be rookies, right?" He asked, emphasizing 'rookie.'

"Uwaah, how did you know mister?" Gon asked innocently. I stared at the old man suspiciously.

I whispered to Leorio and Kurapika, "This guys is dangerous. I can sense a bad vibe around him. When he offers something, make sure to not take it. Okay?"

Leorio turned to me, this time giving a surprised and suspicious stare. "And how did you know that? And why should we trust you?"

I only smirked and jerked my thumb to my chest. "Cause from now own, I'm your friend and comrade. And comrades trust each other."

"Hmm..."

I flashed a toothy grin and walked off. "Oi, where are you going! The exam's gonna start soon!"

"Just gonna walk around~ Don't worry, I'll be back~" And with that, I dispersed in the crowd.

~Back with the group

"That kid is strange, but she's cute~" Leorio said, with a perverted look on his face. Kurapika nudged him. "Who is she?"

Ui strolled around the place, earning some curious and mocking stares from the people.
