It's been 3 weeks since both Bucky and Steve left, and I had started working at one of the nearby bases. I was currently tending to a patient when the doctor in charge called me to his office.
"Yes?" I asked pushing a piece of hair out of my face.
"I just got a call from the colonel in London," He started.
"What did he say?" I nervously asked.
"They need more help down there, and I told him I would send my best nurse," He smiled.
"I'm flattered, sir," I smiled, "when do I leave?"
"Tonight" He stated shuffling some papers.
"T-tonight?" I asked bewildered, "Sir, I can't afford this,"
"Don't worry, it's covered" He handed me a stack of papers.
"Go home Nurse Ross, start getting ready for your trip" He placed his hand on my shoulder.
"It's been a pleasure working with you, Doctor Brady" I smiled.
He smiled and pulled me into a hug, which I gladly returned. "I must say, I'm sad losing my best nurse, but I'm proud of you" He walked me out of his office.
"Thank you doctor" I grinned.
I grabbed my things and headed back to Bucky and I's apartment. I walked inside, still not use to the eerie silence. I sighed and started packing my things. Once I was finished, I made myself a quick meal, and fell asleep on the couch. I groaned as I rolled over. Rufus licked my face, causing me to scrunch up my face. I opened my eyes and smiled.
"Hey buddy" I ruffled his ears.
I sat up and stretched, wincing when my back cracked. I stood up and walked into the bedroom to grab my things. The bedroom smelled so much like Bucky, it was over powering. I grabbed my things quickly and closed the door, breathing heavily. Was he safe? What was he doing now? Was he even alive? My last thought caused me to choke up. I took a deep breath and walked into the living room. Rufus was sitting on the couch, waiting for me.
"Let's go" I grabbed his leash causing him to jump off the couch.
I grabbed my bags and Rufus, and we left. After dropping off Rufus at Grace's, I drove to the airport.

"Thanks" I took my bags from the cab driver, giving him his money.
"Miss Ross?" A woman asked.
I looked up and saw a young woman dressed in a military outfit.
"Yes?" I answered.
"Hi, I'm Agent Peggy Carter" She shook my hand, "Follow me"
I followed her into the base. After she gave me a tour, we headed towards the nurses station. "This is where you'll be working of course" Peggy motioned towards the room, "There are more nurses, but everyone is eating right now"
I nodded and walked around the room. "Agent Carter" A man called. I turned my head and saw a much larger and taller Steve.
"Stevie?" I blinked.
"Linny?" He asked. I smiled as he pulled me into a tight embrace. After he pulled away I marveled at his body.
"H-how?" I asked, "What happened to my tiny Steve?"
