In The End (Book 1)

Continued

   We all stepped out of the truck at the top of the hill.

"That place HAS to have supplies!" I cried.

"Well let's find out shall we?" Larry said.

   Nancy got back into the car and slammed the door shut and sat there.

"What are you doing?" Larry asked

"Aren't we going down?" She asked

"Not in our truck" he replied"on foot so it doesn't get stolen"

   She sighed and stepped out"I don't see why not"

"Don't argue"he said

   We all headed for the barricaded city, excited as hell? Yes but you can never be too careful. once we finally reached the city we realized that the wall was made of of complete junk and scrap metal.
   Cars smashed into place, wire holding things in, poles strapped inside, yet it worked very well. We all walked over to the gate as it swung open. We were greeted by three men in armor, I couldn't see the guy's faces on the left and right but the guy in the middle...He had swept over to the right very dark brown hair that led to a stubble for a beard.  His eyes where almost pitch black, the type of eyes that burned holes in you when they stared at you, but on his right eye there was a huge scar going from the middle of his eye brow to the bottom of his eye socket. The guy looked almost evil how he stood, and with a smirk on almost at all times.

"Hello there strangers, what brings you?" The man asked

"We just need meds for my father"I said

"Well this is a city, so we have plenty of supplies to go around.he replied"to bad you won't be getting anything"he said with a wicked smile

"What?"Larry asked angrily

"You see strangers, the only reason we let strangers in is to kill them" he said as the two men locked the gate behind us, "we have the numbers, you have one minute until the hunt starts"

"YOU SICK FU-"I got cut off

"fifty four seconds left"he smiled and pulled out a pistol"I'd geta move on"

   I growled and stormed off, followed by Nancy and Larry. We all ran straight for the park.

"What now?!" Nancy asked scared out of her mind

"What else can we do?" I ask"we finish this" I said with a look of determination.

   I glanced around and spotted a map.

"3'2'1'0" a voice called out over a microphone.

"Okay look we're here" I said pointing to the map "and we need to be here" I traced the streets."let's head out!" I called and darted towards the road.

   I ran across the road and to the other side and crouched and waited. I motioned the group to follow and watched as they ran over to me. I slowly stepped my way back onto the street.KPOW!
I ducked back behind the building.

"Shoot guys, umm....this way" I whispered.

   I stood up and ran to the next KPOW! building with the rest right on my heels.

"God that was close" Larry said.

"It's not over yet" I said.

   I looked around for anything else until I spotted a big sign hanging on the side of the building next to me about ten feet up hung by rope, two at each end.

"If i can get up there I can cut the sign down" I said

"Here"Larry said and walked over and crouched down"stand on my shoulders"
