   I had heard that my dad had left for a run with Johnathan from Steven. Steven seemed like a really nice guy if you asked me.
From talking to Lizzy I found out that she was my next door neighbor. A huge house like our set up except the outside was all white and the inside was also all white. We both had decided to just walk around the town.

"Do any biters get inside the wall?" I asked

"No they usually stay away from the walls, we have about one or two a month." Lizzy replied

"So this place is secluded" I confirmed

"Very actually. This place used to be a track from what I can tell, I don't know where the houses came from". She said

"Well this place is amazing" I said staring at the wall.

"What?" She asked

"Have you ever been in the woods out there?" I asked

"Nah, I don't leave the walls. Even tho it probably would be okay" she said.

   I ran over to one of the wooden stands then jumped up and grabbed it. The thing shook a little bit but it stayed in place, I pulled myself up then stared into the woods.

"What are you doing?" Lizzy asked.

"Just checking something" I replied.

   I walked over to the edge of the wall then climbed over to the other side and held on, it was about a five foot drop. I dropped to the ground then bent my knees to absorb the shock. Once outside I looked up to see Lizzy staring down at me.

"Are you crazy!?" She yelled.

"Maybe" I said simply.

   I looked at the metal sheets, each one about twenty feet long and ten feet high. At the ends of the sheets they were bent at a 90 degree angle towards me, two sheets where connected by three holes that had large smooth octagon bolts going through the holes on each side to connect the two. I grabbed onto the 2nd pair of bolts then put my feet onto the first.
   I reached up and grabbed onto the 3rd pair,then climbed up to The top of the wall.

"See? Climbable" I said, then got back onto the wooden platform.

"........Why?" Lizzy asked

"Because you never know what's out there" I said"we could find a bunker for all we know" I replied

"Yes let's just stay INSIDE the walls... For now anyway" she said

   I heard the sound of a car coming up the path, I looked towards the dirt path to see an army Jeep speeding up the path.

"Is that them?" I asked

"Yea" she replied.

   We both jumped down and ran over to the gate. We both grabbed hold of the bar and yanked it, the gate slowly cracking open feet by feet. Just then the Jeep sped through the wall and came to a halt. Several people came running to see what the ruckus was all about. Me and Lizzy quickly slammed the gate shut then locked it. I started running over to my father who was getting out.

"Dad you're back!" I yelled

   He just gave me a blank stare.

"Dad what's wr-" that's when I spotted his left hand."Dad, your hand!" I exclaimed

"I'll be fine, don't worry about me" he said.

"But your finger is missing!" I yelled.

"I'll live...That's all that matters...I got bit Holly" he replied
