Knock knock knock! My eyes fluttered open slowly and I sat up and stretched while yawning. Knock knock knock!

"Hold on. I need to get dressed" I yawned.

I threw off the covers and slid out of bed. I picked up my pants and threw them on then buckled my belt. Then I picked up my dirty shirt and put it on. I stumbled over to the door and unlocked it. I sighed before opening my door, outside stood Lizzy all dressed up in camo and a tackle vest along with a medium sized beije backpack.

"What are you wearing?" I asked her while staring at the outfit.

"Are you ready?" She asked with a smile.

".........What?" I asked her cocking my head slightly.

"We're going hiking!" She said happily.

"And what time is it?!" I asked her a bit surprised about all of this.

"It's about seven in the morning" she replied and stuck out her tongue slightly.

"...And where's my say in all of this?" I asked her tensing up slightly.

"You don't get one" she replied with a slight chuckle.

"You are starting to really annoy me. You know that? Either way, I'll go with you" I sighed.

"Good. You have a weapon?" She asked while checking me over with her eyes.

I walked back over to my bed and pulled out my knife from under my pillow"now I do" I replied.

"Good because you're Killing any biters we come across" she snapped as she turned around and headed down the all.

"Of course I am" I mumbled depressingly as I put my knife in my pocket.

I walked out of my room and quietly closed my door behind me. I walked down the hallway thinking about all that could go wrong. We could get ambushed by a horde of biters, or attacked by raiders, or get lost, and so on. I just shrugged it all of and headed down the stairs, Lizzy was sitting on the couch, her arms spread over the back of it and her left foot laying across her right leg.

"Took you long enough. Get anything you need before we head out." He said staring at me where I stood.

"Food, I'm hungry" I replied and stretched and yawned.

Lizzy looked to the left side of her backpack and unzipped a small section that I couldn't see then she pulled out a red apple.

"Here" she said and chucked it at me gently.

I put up my left hand and caught it almost perfectly.

"Nice catch" she said admiring my work.

"It was nothing, I just caught an apple" I replied and took a large bite out of it.

"Still, that was amazing" Lizzy replied zipping up her backpack.

"Fair enough" I replied taking another bite out of the apple with a loud crunch.

"Anyway, ya ready? I'd like to head out as soon as possible."she said and stood up as I took my fifth bite into the apple, one side of it already completely gone.

"Shouldn't I finish this first?" I asked her referring to the apple.

"Nah, you can throw the core over the wall, I do it all the time" she bragged and walked over to the front door.

"Okay then, I guess I'm ready then" I replied and headed over to the door with Lizzy.

"Good,let's head out, it's already seven ten" she replied and opened the front door, letting more light in.
