DOUBLE DIGITS YAY!!!! CHAPTER 10 YASSS!!! lol I thought this story wasn't going to make it this far but it is so touch wood everyone! TOUCH WOOD! Please XD Jackie up top ^
This isn't a lovey dovey romance book, I didn't wake up in Sam's bed, I didn't wake up in his arms, heck I didn't even wake up in a hospital bed. I woke up exactly where I fell with four people looking down on me. First thing I did was sit up, wincing at the pounding in my head, everyone shuffled back but Sam held out a hand that I gabbed and he pulled me up. "How are you feeling?" Asked Mrs McNally as she cast a worried look at my head.
"Perfectly fine." I murmured, trying and failing to muster up a smile.
Mrs McNally frowned, "Follow me, I'll take a closer look at that cut." I nodded and followed after her, leaving the rest behind.
Just down the hall and to the right was where I ended up in the bathroom, sitting on the edge of the bathtub while Mrs McNally prodded around my head. I gasped a couple times as she prodded where it really hurt but other then that it was silent. Finally after she'd examined my head, she stood back with a sceptic look on her face, "It's not that deep so you shouldn't need stiches, just don't go doing anything stupid for a while ok? It's still a pretty nasty bump."
"Thanks Mrs McNally." I said actually smiling this time.
We then went and joined everyone else who was gazing at me -well more so my head- with concern, I held up my hands, "I'm fine, no stitches are needed." And there concerned glances melted away.
Not long after that, Bianca and Jake went off to go explore while Mrs McNally was packing away the left overs from Jake's birthday cake. Mr McNally went down for a nap while Sam sat on the seat out on the porch with me and handed me a hot chocolate. "Thanks." I murmured, taking a sip.
"No problem." He said with a small smile.
Silence commenced, it was a nice silence though, you could hear the kids playing in the distance while the wind whistled through the wind chime. "Did your mum make that?" I asked curiously,
He blushed red and scratched the back of his neck, "Um no, I did, I gave it to her as a mothers day present."
"Oh, it's very pretty." I said with a smile,
"Thanks." He muttered.
"Hey by the way, I'm really sorry about whacking you into the coffee table, it wasn't my intention I swear." I laughed lightly,
"It's ok, just remember that revenge is sweet." I grinned wickedly and Sam pretended to be scared.
It was then that I remembered a couple of things that clicked into place, Sam's family was poor so any money they could get would be great. We need a new farm hand to help out Jackie now that she's got the kids, I turned to face him. "Hey Sam?" I asked to grab his attention and he hummed in response.
"This is a little out of the blue but I was wondering, would you happen to want a job as a farm hand? Were kinda short staffed at our place now that Jackie has adopted the kids and we're looking for a new hand if you're interested? It's good pay but hard work, it's cool if your not interested I just figured you might want it and now I realise that I'm rambling and I'm going to shut up now before I start looking like and idiot which I clearly already have and shoot ok I'm done." I blushed, I just made myself look like a complete idiot.
He laughed loudly, "Don't worry, I think it's cute-" He paused to wink and I blushed redder, "-I'll have to think about the job, talk to mum and dad about it before anything is final but yeah I think I'll take it." I grinned widely,
"That's great! I'll let mum know that your thinking about it when I get home, which I actually should be doing that now so yeah I better get going, I'll see you at school and you can let me know if your going to take it or not.-" I hesitated, realising he might not want to be friends with me at school, "-um it's cool to by the way if um you don't want to like talk to me at school, I understand." I muttered, staring at my feet.
