Chapter 7: Not as amazing as you

Caspar's: POV:

Joes eyes widened as he saw what was in front of him.

"So, have you been here before?" I asked, realising that my hand was sill linked with his.

"Caspar, how did you find this place? It's beautiful." He said, ignoring my question.

I let out a small laugh and squeezed his hand.

"I'm guessing that's a no. And I was just bored so I went for a walk. I bumped into someone and they pushed me into the hedge. I came out through here." I explained, laughing slightly at the beginning.

He let out a laugh at how I found this place and removed his hand from mine. The warmth instantly left my hand and I could feel tingles starting to make their way up my arm.

"Well, it's amazing." He stated as he looked around at the Autumn colours trees and the big pound in the centre of the park.

I thought this was the perfect opportunity to flirt with him so I said, "Not as amazing as you." As soon as the words left my mouth Joe jerked his head and stared at me with shocked eyes. A pink layer coloured his cheeks as his jaw dropped to the floor.

"What did you just say?" He asked, still surprised. I really don't know what he was so surprised about, I've been flirting with him non-stop. Although that was the first actual compliment I've given him.

"I said, 'not as amazing as you'" I repeated.

By now his cheeks were a deep velvet colour. He hid his face away and god I had never seen something so beautiful.

"Thank you Caspar, but I'm not that great." He mumbled, still not showing me his face.

"Are you kidding? You're one of the most beautiful and amazing people I know. Joe, I know we haven't known each other long but I really like you. Will you go on a date with me?" I asked, completely confident. I don't know how people get so nervous when they ask someone out. I just go for it with confidence and of they say no, I keep going.

At first he just stared at me for a while. It was like he was studying my face to see if I was serious or not. He then looked away and the colour in his cheeks deepened.

"Umm...... Well... I'm sorry, Caspar. I like someone else." He said, hiding his face even more.

Even though I was partly expecting it, that hit me hard. A pain went through my chest and hit me right in the heart. I had been rejected plenty of times before but this time was worse. But I couldn't show it to Joe so I forced a smile and said "That's fine. I was sorta expecting it anyway." I started to walk into the park more when Joe caught my arm.

"Are you sure your alright?" He asked, concern leaking from his eyes.

"Of course, I'll win you over eventually anyway." I waved my hand over it as Joe let go.

"Aha, sure, okay." He let out a laugh as we started to walk into the garden.

Joes POV:

Caspar just asked me out.

Caspar Lee just asked me out.

CASPAR FREKON LEE JUST ASKED ME OUT!!!

I was so shocked at first that I didn't answer for a few seconds. I just stood there staring as him because I wasn't sure if I heard him right.

I obviously had to say no because I like his sister. Oh no! This will make things so much more awkward when I ask Theo out. Oh well, I will just do it in private.

I'm still surprised that Caspar asked me out, like, I knew he was flirting and everything but I didn't think he was serious.

Anyway, right now me and Caspar are just walking home in silence.

We stayed at the park for an hour or two and Caspar started to get really hungry so we decided to come home.

"Well I better go in and see Theo." Caspar said as we came up to his house. I stopped waking and stood on the side of the road.

"Okay, well I'll see you tomorrow night?" I said, yet asked at the same time because I wasn't sure if he was coming to the dinner me and Zoe had planned.

"Oh yeah, we're coming to your house tomorrow for dinner aren't we?" He said to which I nodded my head.

"Ok, cool. I'll see you then. Bye." He waved as he started to walk down the path toward his house.

"See ya."

You would think that after you rejected your best formed that it would be awkward but it wasn't. Caspar was acting like nothing ever happened.

Although he did say that he would win me over.

What's that meant to mean?

Did he mean he would keep flirting with me until I would agree?

I just realised that I'm still standing outside Caspar's house.

I probably look like an idiot.

I quickly started to walk home.

Sorry it's a bit shorter than my other chapters.

Actually it's about 200 words shorter than my average😳

Oh well, anyway, what do you guys think about Joe rejecting Caspar?

Caspar thinking he will win Joe over?

Joe still wanting to ask Theo out?

Next chapter might take a bit longer to come out because Christmas is in two days!
