Chapter 8

Master lilica and Paris stood opposite sides from each other on the sparring match. The mat had a yin yang symbol on it. Master Lilica handed helen her winter coat and stepped onto the mat. Paris also stepped onto the mat. They both bowed before taking fighting stances. Master Lilica used Shaolin Kung Fu. She took a soaring crane stance. Paris decided to use Tai Chi. She lowered herself into a snake creeps through the grass. They stared at each other. Paris steadied her breathing and waited for Master Lilica to make the first move. And she did. Paris knew that her anger would cloud her thoughts and make her unstable. Master Lilica removed a small kunai from the pouch on her leg and threw it at paris. Paris watched as the kunai was wrapped in a light green aura. " WATCH OUT, DON'T LET IT TOUCH YOU " yelled helen from the sidelines. " SILENCE CHILD " yelled Master Lilica, looking at Helen with absolute loathing. Paris threw her arms in front of her, summoning a orange shield in front of her. The kunai seemed to pass right through the shield. Paris moved her body to the side, watching as the kunai had imbedded itself in a tree. Master Lilica glared at Helen. " do not interfere child or you will never see the light of day ever again " she threatened. Helen looked down at her feet. Paris used this as a chance to strike. She leaped forward and socked master lilica in the jaw. " I told you, DON'T TALK TO HER LIKE THAT AGAIN " she yelled. Master lilica went flying and barely landed on her feet. " YOU DARE STRIKE A GUARDIAN? " yelled master lilica. Paris stood up straight. She pulled out a large kunai and went into a black tiger stance. She leaped into the air and threw the large kunai straight at master lilica. Master Lilica slightly shifted her body so the kunai landed at her feet. " is that the best you can do? " sneered master lilica. Paris disappeared, appearing where the kunai had landed. Master lilica had barely time to react before paris threw an uppercut, sending master lilica into the air. Master lilica regained focus and folded her hands together in front of her. " Flame jutsu, soaring phoenix strike " said master lilica, She pointed her palms at paris. A flaming phoenix came soaring at paris. Paris backflipped and barely managed to dodge. She quickly remembered something that helen had taught her. Standing in a crane stance, she spun her body. She spun completely around before planting her foot on the ground. She moved her hands and sliced horizontally in front of her. " Air Jutsu, Slicing Wind " she said, watching as boomerangs of air came flying upwards at master lilica. Paris watched as they hit master lilica. She took a step back, shocked when she saw master lilica. She was cloaked in a light green aura. Master Lilica disappeared. Paris looked around. She felt pain in her ribs. Master lilica appeared five feet from her. Her light green aura brightened. She threw her fist forward. A snake animal spirit came soaring at her. She watched as it grabbed paris with its mouth and threw her at a tree. Master Lilica clapped her hands together. The spirit snake became a large green python. As the snake leaped to strike, a light appeared between paris and the snake. Paris closed her eyes, knowing she let her grandfather down.
