"Was he your partner for that stupid thing we did in class?" Cammie asks while we walk to our next class.
"Yeah. He was actually quite.. interesting and nice. It's weird." I respond.
"Wow, bad boy Luke interesting and nice? That is weird." She chuckles.
"Yeah, so anyways how was your partner?" I ask so we can stop talking about Luke. I'm just so confused with him right now so I need a change of topic.
"Uh, I had Molly. She is so annoying. She was like I love shopping, getting nails done, and going to the spa. All she talked about was herself in her high pitched voice and I didn't even get to say anything about myself." She replies causing me to chuckle.
Molly was like the head bitch in charge at Johnson High School. She was so popular and had a new boyfriend every month. I don't even understand why someone would want to be friends with someone like that. She just takes advantage of them. It's probably because she takes all her pathetic friends with her to the spa, and shopping and shit like that. It seems pretty accurate.
"That sucks." I reply after all my laughing.
"I know. I hope in this next class we sit next to each other so we don't have to deal with a situation like that again." She says before we enter our next class.
It was an honors class so I know we won't have a bad teacher or anything like that.
"Hey girls, take a seat anywhere." The teacher says as we enter the class.
Cammie and I both head to the back excited that he isn't one of those strict teachers. I have a feeling I'm going to like this class. I have Cammie and it's science which is one of my favorite subjects other than English.
I look towards the door to see who else will walk through the door and to my surprise Luke walks in. I literally had a 'What the fuck?' moment when he chooses the seat right next to me.
"Hello Avery." Luke says as he plops down in the desk next to me.
"Uh, hi." I reply.
I'm totally confused. Why is Luke in a honors class? He has never been in a honors class. I thought I was going to like this class but I'm not so sure anymore. Maybe I can ignore him the rest of class. I do have Cammie next to me now.
That's exactly what I do but I can feel Luke's eyes burning into my flesh. Why is he staring at me? It's actually quite creepy. I've never had a guy stare at me like this unless they were making fun of me or something. Hell, I've never even had a guy like me before. I was just a girl who went to school everyday wearing jeans and a basic tee. Why would a guy like me? They like girls who wear short skirts and some type of floral print shirt or some shit like that. Basically, a girly girl. I'm not one of those so of course I'm not going to have a boyfriend. Cammie on the other hand was exactly like that. She was one of those stunning girls who had a full wardrobe of that crap. She just never really dates anybody because she claims they are all 'jerks' who like her. I've only seen her with 2 boyfriends during high school so that proves my point. It was quite strange how we are total opposites but best friends. I think some people look at us crazy when they see us hanging out together because she is beautiful and I'm just a loser.
Taking me away from the lecture and thoughts, I feel my phone vibrate in my butt pocket. I rarely text in class so I was surprised when I actually got a text from someone else. It's usually my mom or coach but this time it wasn't.
I open the text and my phone doesn't recognize the phone number but I read the text and know immediately who it is.
*Why are you ignoring me? Aren't we friends? ;)*
I look over to Luke and he has a big grin on his face. Why does he even care if I'm ignoring him? And why is he texting me? I know he has better looking girls in his phone so why is he texting me? I just roll my eyes at him and go back to the lecture. I click my thoughts off right now too because I just want to pay attention to this boring lecture.
Finally class is over and then Luke speaks once again to me.
"Bye Avery." He says with a smile.
"Bye Luke." I respond and go straight to Cammie.
"Okay, what is up with him? He was literally staring at you the whole time." Cammie says with a smile.
"Or maybe he was looking at you. You are the pretty one." I reply which causes her to pout.
"Avery, why do you always do this? You are beautiful." She says still with a pout.
"I'm sorry." I reply because I don't want to get in to a petty argument with the only person who tolerates me at this school.
"It's okay. I mean it though, you are beautiful. I would never lie to you."
"Thanks Cam. I know you wouldn't."
We finally drop the situation and head to lunch. I guess this will make me feel better.

Luke's POV
It's finally lunch and I hurry to get food because I'm starving. Mom didn't cook breakfast this morning because she was too busy arguing with her ridiculous boyfriend. God, I hate him. I just wish my dad was here.
I finally head back to the table where all my boys hang at. Many people refer this table to 'The Player Table' but I don't mind. That sort of what I am. I sit down next to my friend Danny and they are all talking about Molly. Everyone wants to bang her and they are just waiting for her to dump her boyfriend so they can make a move on her. It has been a month so it should be pretty soon. As they talk, I spot that brown hair that I've been staring at all 2nd period. Avery. I don't like her or anything I just find her interesting and different. I never talk to girls like her but she is so different that I want to talk to her. She probably finds it strange because I would always ignore her. I honestly barely knew she exist until I accidentally knocked all her books onto the hall floors. I looked into her eyes and just noticed something about them. I want to find out what that something is.
