I woke up to strong arms wrapped around me. Furrowing my eyebrows together, I pushed away at the chest in attempt to get some room to breathe. Looking up, Jake's relaxed face took in my view. Even though there wasn't an ounce of light, I could still see the uneasy look in his face with his eyebrows scrunched, and lips in a small pout. His blond hair sprawled messily around his forehead.
I slipped out of his grip completely, quickly placing a pillow in my spot, before tip toeing out of the room. Carefully shutting the door behind me, I tip toed down the stairs to the kitchen. The cold wood floor chilled my feet as I padded my way to the fridge, opening it.
I grabbed the chocolate milk jug, smiling, as I shut the fridge door. Grabbing the biggest cup, I filled it up most of the way, before placing the milk back and taking a huge gulp of the cold refreshment. I walked to the living room, still sipping at my beverage, grabbing the thick blanket on the love seat.
"Kitten?" I heard a husky deep voice question from behind me. I jumped turning around, seeing Ace sitting up from the couch rubbing his eyes.
"Yeah?" I asked walking back over to him, squatting in front of the couch as he laid back down.
"Why are you up?" He voice was thick with sleep as he struggled to keep his grey orbs open.
"I wanted a drink." I mumbled reaching my hand over to push his dark hair out of his face. He hummed in content, his body relaxing. My thumb traced his thick eye brow, making me realize how I needed to attack them with tweezers. His skin was soft and warm under my palm, and I could stay like this for days.
Soon enough, his breaths evened out making me pull away. I grabbed the plush blanket, wrapping it around myself and grabbing my milk, before walking out the back door to the porch.
The morning was still dark even at 6, a few stars lighting up the sky, and the moon small and distant. There was a faint sound of rustling through the tree branches and bushes hitting each other. I guess it was a good thing Jake had us live far out from everyone. City lights, noisy cars would ruin this amazing experience people are starting to take for granted, and one day, it won't be this beautiful.
With a shiver, I walked to the cushioned rocking chair, sitting down while wrapping the blanket around me, setting the milk on the table beside me.
The cool air nipped my face as I sat there, taking in the sounds of nature, the earth still sleeping. Soon enough, my eyes drooped listening to the rustling of the tree branches and bushes, and before I knew it, I fell into a deep slumber.
-
"Katherine Renee!" I heard a loud shout from near by. I jumped, my eyes widening as I looked around in alarm. My eyes lazily drifted to Jake before I curled into a ball on the rocking chair.
"Shh, no sleep. Need more." I mumbled shooing him away.
"Katherine, I wake up, to you, not in bed! Then I walk around the house, to NOT find you! What am I suppose to think? I'm here yelling your name, having the boys looking for you like crazy, thinking you got kidnapped, and here you are, sleeping on the porch- are you listening to me?" Jake asked pulling at his hair. I hummed in response, my eyes still shut. Jake let out an exasperated sigh, before his steps got louder. I felt one arm wrap around my back, as the other went under my knees. My head rested on his shoulder, as my hand rested on his chest.
"You're going to be the death of me Kat." Jake said with a puff as he walked into the door.
"Hmmm I love you." I mumbled wrapping my arms around his neck, repositioning myself in his arms, my legs wrapping around his waist, my face nuzzled into his neck.
