Ashton's POV

The beeping sound of the crosswalk counting down the seconds left for me to get to the otherside. 5 seconds to find out the truth. 4 seconds to be by her side. 3 seconds to get my life together. 2 seconds to be myself again. 1 second to tell her how much I love her and how much I want to spend the rest of my life with her.

"ASHTON! NO!" I heard her voice cry out.

Lottie's POV

*back at the house*

"Why isn't he back yet? It's nearly been over an hour!" I shouted.

"Don't worry, I'm sure he's fine. Even though he's the most immature one in the group he is the wisest....sometimes" Calum said.

It's all my fault. I should've just kicked Luke out of the room. I should've just ignored him. More importantly I should've forgave him when I had the chance. None of this would have never happened if it wasn't for me. Why? Why must I be the cause of this mess!?

Broke down on my knees pouring waterfalls out of my eyes. Luke came over and pulled me into chest.

"Shhh don't cry. It's not your fault nothing is your fault. He's gonna be okay, I promise. I'll take you out to look for him."

"That's a good idea Luke. Amy and Calum can go together, then me and Hannah, and you and Lottie." Michael explained. We split up and looked around the city.

...

"What if we never find him or worse, something bad happened to him!?" I panicked.

"Lottie, I promise that we will find him and bring him home safely."

I stopped at the stop light and looked around. I saw Ashton on the other side of the crosswalk. I could see past him that Calum and Amy were calling out to him so I did the same.

That was a big mistake.

Instead of walking in the safe side he walked towards the sound of my voice. There was only a few seconds left on the sign. Next thing I knew the sign turned red and he was still in the middle. A large truck was on its way to the intersection.

I continued to yell at Ashton but he couldn't understand. The oncoming truck didn't seem to see him on the road. Ashton was only a few inches away from getting hit.

"ASHTON! NO!" I screamed.

Ashton was suddenly pushed towards me. But what I couldn't figure out who pushed him.

"NO!" I heard Amy scream running towards the truck that was now stopped.

Oh my god. No. Calum pushed Ashton out of the way to save him but instead Calum was the one who got hit. Oh Amy. She can't go through another loss. She might not be able to live through this one.

Luke stayed with Ashton to knock some sense into him while I ran to Amy.

"Calum!? Calum? C'mon Cal don't leave me. Don't let me go through this again. Please, I love you so much. Please be okay." Amy pleaded.

"I'm so sorry miss. He was wearing all black. I couldn't see him." The driver explained.

"Okay I get it just please call an ambulance! Hurry"

He went off to the side and dialled the emergency number.

"Oh my gosh Amy. I'm so sorry. I never meant for this to happen. I-"

"Just leave us alone."

"But Amy I-"

"JUST GO!" She yelled.

...

Luke, Ashton, and I met up with Michael and Hannah at the hospital. Amy was already inside since only one visitor was allowed in the room.

"She hates me. She hates me so much. She won't ever forgive me." I cried.

"She doesn't hate you." Michael said.

I ignore him like the rest. Calum is in a hospital laying in a bed unconscious because I made Ashton angry at me. I am the cause for all this. Maybe I should go far away. That way I can't hurt the ones I love anymore.

"One more person can come in now." one of the nurse came out of the room and waited for one of us to go up.

"You go Lottie. You have more to say right now than any of us combined." Luke said.

I nodded and walked into the room. Amy was sat next to Calum's side. She held his hand tight to her chest. I knew what she was feeling, heartbreak.

"Amy? I know you must hate me and you might never speak to me again but I just wanted to let you know I'm sorry." She looked up and stared at me. She took a while to process what I had just said.

"Lottie, I don't blame you for anything. If there's anyone to blame, it's Luke. He started this whole mess with you and he just made things worse by the minute."

"So are we okay?" I asked her.

"Yeah we're okay" she smiled and looked back down at Calum.

I left her in peace with Cal and went back to the waiting room. I looked at Ashton and Michael with a smile and left Luke feeling hurt that I didn't smile at him.

"Looks like we're good. She doesn't blame me but she does blame someone." I explained.

Luke looked down on himself. "It's me isn't it. It started off with me and the other girl and now it's led to my best mate lying in a hospital bed. I'm a horrible friend and a horrible person!" he broke down in tears. It was worse than me. He couldn't stand be in a hospital where he had to wait not knowing what will happen to his best friend.

Hannah walked over to Luke and comforted him.

"Maybe we should get Luke and Ash home, right Mikey?" I asked.

"Yeah, I can drop off Hannah on the way as well. We'll come back to bring Amy stuff because I dot think she'll ever leave his side." Michael exclaimed.

"That's just who she is. She is very passionate and protective of the people she loves."

Amy's POV

"Cal, you're so crazy and reckless and stupid. Why would you so that? Especially to me. You know how much you mean to me. I know you love Ashton as well but I just can't bear thinking of living on without you. Don't leave me right now. Not right now. We still have to live young and grow old, have children and grandchildren, and exchange our vows. You are everything to me and if I lose you then I lose all that."

I sat there staring at his face, looking at him hurts me. Seeing how weak and vulnerable he was. Tear flowed down my face and created puddles in his hands.

A few minutes later the nurse came in with results of his stability. "He has a broken arm and a hairline fracture in his knee but that's not what is serious. He has a fracture in his head which will cause him to have some memory loss but he will not forget everything. He will most Likely forget the most current thing on his mind from the accident." she explained.

She finished explaining the details of his injuries then walked out. I was allowed to stay overnight due to being the only visitor here for him right now. I took his hand once again and held it against my chest.

"Listen to my heart beating. It beats for you. If you ever needed to replace it I will always have it for you." I cried.

The beeping of the monitor counted the heart beats. 1...2...3...4... It was driving me insane.

I felt his hand twitch in my grasp. "Cal?" His eyes were still shut. "Cal please wake up..."

My eyes shut for it was 2 am. I laid my head down by his side and fell fast asleep with one last tear dropped.
